Title: Biggest surprise in week 1?
Post by: StL FinFan on September 15, 2010, 01:45:19 pm
For me, it was the Chiefs.  They looked really good against the Chargers and I expected them to be the same old bad crappy Chiefs.  They drafted well and have some good young talent.  They are on their way to once again being an elite team.

I liked the Chiefs victory as well.

Mine was the ass kicking that Seahawks put on the 49ers. A lot of hype on San Fransisco this season and they played terrible. I actually expected the score to be the other way around. I am interested in seeing what the 49ers bring to the table this season!

I predict over the long term the Chiefs will take over the AFCW.  It will take some time, but they have a GM who knows how to build a championship team.

I'm with AZ...the shocking loss to Seattle really blew me away.  I'm going to just pretend it didn't happen, and look forward to week two. ;)

Several things stand out for me, including the mentioned teams. (KC, Seattle). I also was quite shocked (pleasantly) with the way the Jets offense sputtered!

Got to add in the Cowboys losing to the Redskins and only scoring 7.  It's all I've heard about for 3 days. LOL

My vote's on KC as the biggest upset in round 1. Did NOT see that coming.

Seattle and KC were both surprises for me.  ...not so much in that they won, but in how they won and by how much.

I'm still laughing that the Cowboys big offseason acquisition was Alex Barron!  Jerry Jones needs to fire himself as the GM because every problem on that team stems from his mismanagement.
I figured Washington would win the game, though, because of the Cowboys laissez faire attitude all preseason.  The Skins were hungrier...not more talented, just hungrier.

The one game that made me scratch my head was the Seattle/San Fran game.  In the first quarter the game looked like it was going to be a 49er romp, and then the tables were turned.

Sam Bradford and the Rams didn't look too poor, either, against the Cards.  They probably should have won, but it takes time for young teams to figure out how pull out a victory.

Houston with Arian Foster bitching up the Colts...did not see that coming.

^^ I predicted that one on Sunday - not really a surprise here.

My big surprises are the Jets, Chiefs, and 49ers.
