Big game for both teams. Vikings don't want to fall to 0-2 and the Dolphins are looking to start 2-0 for the first time in what seems like forever.

This is dolphins4life reporting here from my job.  I have a 3-11 shift and will be following the game on cbs.sportsline.com

Today, the Dolphins face Old Yeller and the Vikings, who looked really shaky in a loss to the Saints Opening Day.  The Dolphins defense was rock solid in the win against the Bills last week, but the offense looked rather out of sync.  Carpenter was bad kicking, but hopefully that was just a one game thing.

aw fuck.  it doesn't seem like the dolphins run on first down much.  i saw henne stats from last week and he didn't attempt a pass (maybe he got sacked) on 2nd down.

the difference between punting from the 50 yard line and punting from the 42 yard line is nil.

I don't mind them going conservative there.  The Vikings were dropping back 7 guys.  The chances of completing a pass there were very small.

might as well just punt on 3rd down. absolutely no chance of lousaka polite getting a first down or getting in field goal range.  atleast take a shot with henne.

My biggest complaint,and I can see it in this game....We don't know how to go for the kill shot, and put teams away when we're up.I know were on the road,but We need to not let Favre,and the Vikings offense get any momentum, confidence,play 60 minutes......Go Dolphins B out....

Why didn't Sparano challenge that spot? The replays showed he was stopped, could've saved 3 points.

That aside, Henne needs to step up here. He looks like John Beck with these checkdowns. He needs to move the ball and the offense needs to stop with these penalties.

There was no possible angle that would have given a definitive spot. He was in the middle of everything. We need our ground game to just out fight the defense and chew up clock.

Not many timeouts to burn (cdc already burned one), and I don't think there was that much video evidence to overturn the call.

Time for Ricky to make up for the Vikes gift TD with some good runs on this drive. We get 3-4 first downs and the clock is pretty much gone.

i think the vikings had like 15 people in the box, and of course the dolphins run it.

excellent 3 yard completion by henne on 2nd and 13.

The Vikings can cheat up secure in the knowledge the Dolphins will not go deep.

and henne burns another timeout.  laser rocket arm and a head of rocks.

The Dolphins will get conservative and nurse a 4 point lead instead of actually trying to increase it.

I hate to a agree with this but I have to agree with it.

Is Wanny our offensive coordinator? We have the same predictable offense as 5 years ago. Might as well play Penny and get something for Henne if we aren't going to use him.

chad henne is a god.  leads the dolphins to 7 whole points this game. The defense has scored 7. 

Playing not to lose = losing by few points. If we don't ever try to win a game ( which will cause a INT or two) then we will always be in the games but come up short against good teams.

We basically need 2 first downs to kill the clock because Minny has 3 timeouts. Quite frankly, if we go 3 and out, which is very likely with Henne/Ronnie/Ricky, the Vikes could get the ball back at their own 35 with around 1 minute to play. Far from over.

Will the offense get a first down outside of that penalty?  Stay tuned.

The only successful play the offense can execute in the 4th quarter: a kneeldown.

The defense allowed 3 points. Ricky's fumble at his own 1 was obviously a gift, so forgive me for not really counting it.

MONSTER effort today by the defense, especially Vontae Davis. I thought he was better than Jason Allen, who was also excellent. Good to know our defensive backs learned how to catch passes thrown directly at them. Insane win because we did everything possible to give it away.
