I realize it is one game but for discusssion's sake let's say Jason Allen goes on to have a successful career here in Miami. Seeing as how he has done pretty much nothing except collect millions from us for many years, does his  success mean we should give other high price rookies more of a chance?

I ask this because Jason has never shown that he would be anything more than a special teams player and yet he could turn out to be a great player. He was given extremely more time than any other first round pick to develop. Thoughts?

If the work ethic is there and players continue to shows glimpses of what they can do at practice, they'll continue to get chances. This isn't something that we can easily follow as fans, though.

Jason Allen was always good.  He rarely got playing time due to being buried on the depth chart.  But even in 2007 when the entire team was injured, Allen played VERY well.

Yet people crapped on him for the same reason they crapped on Ted Ginn - because he was a surprising first round pick and didn't make an immediate impact.

Jason Allen has always been a gem.  Search the forums, I've been saying it for years.  He just never had the limelight on him until now.

I think Jason Allen needs to wash Mike Nolan's car,do his laundry,pick up his dry cleaning,and give him foot massages weekly for bringing a defense system perfect for Jason Allen's abilities..

I agree with FYO,He's done something right,to make the team every year he was drafted,willing to be a special teamer,not be a diva...I think it scores points with the front office...

Allen has played well in 2 games but lets not get crazy.

They were against BUFFALO and MINNY. Two teams right now that don't have any good WR's And the one good one each has Vontae covers.

So while Allen is playing well, lets keep it in perspective
