Post by: mecadonzilla on October 10, 2010, 10:04:11 pm The Fins are going to need all the help they can get to sneak out with a win in Green Bay. Besides being beat up, Green Bay just hasn't played very well the last few games. Hopefully, the bye week was exactly what the doctor ordered to get the Fins all on the same page.
Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! Post by: Pappy13 on October 11, 2010, 10:45:46 am This game *might* be considered must win. The reasoning being that I think that Miami can beat Green Bay and considering how banged up they are and the fact that we should probably be the healthiest we've been all year, in all honesty we should beat them. Combining that with the fact that Pittsburgh comes to town next which figures to be a much tougher game than Green Bay at Green Bay and we can't afford to lose. The chances that we lose to Pittsburgh are too high and 2-4 would be too big of a hole to overcome in my humble opinion. We must win at least 1 of the next 2 to stay 500 and Green Bay seems to be the easier game, therefore it's a must win game.
Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! Post by: MikeO on October 11, 2010, 12:24:58 pm Our next 4 games are killer. We must come away splitting those 4 and win at least 2.
Anything less and the season is over in a tough AFC this year Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! Post by: Sunstroke on October 11, 2010, 12:31:11 pm Green Bay will be really tough...especially if Rodgers is healthy. Not sure I'll be projecting Miami within 7-8 points of the Pack this week. We must come away splitting those 4 and win at least 2. hmmm...well...oh, never mind. ;) Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! With the leagues new concussion guidelines... has anyone come back and played the week after a sustaining a concussion this season? Seems most players sit a week or two. Seems most players sit a week or two. I want to say Jason Witten came back the following week but I am not 100% sure. Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! Eventually the Fins are going to need to beat a team that's not injured and playing good football. We've yet to do that this season. Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! I think this makes the difference between "ass whipping" and "have a shot". Who's the Packers' backup QB? Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! Has anyone asked that question since 1992? LOL Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! Post by: Philly Fin Fan on October 12, 2010, 09:21:37 am Is Rodgers out next week? I think this makes the difference between "ass whipping" and "have a shot". Who's the Packers' backup QB? Former LSU QB Matt Flynn. Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! Post by: masterfins on October 12, 2010, 01:15:32 pm Regardless of who is out injured on GB, or Miami for that matter, you need to beat the team that shows up on the field. I could care less whether the Fins beat a team that was playing second or third stringers, a win is a win. Not to mention having reserves play can throw a wrench in the works, you don't have game film on them, and they can play erraticlly; which if you don't take control early can be detrimental. A win will have a positive psychological impact for the players, no matter who it is against.
Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! Post by: Dave Gray on October 12, 2010, 01:30:00 pm I believe that this is an opportunity that we have to take advantage of.
A win against GB puts us back on track. Losing both of our home divisional game means that we have to pick up those wins on the road, which is bad news...but a couple of stolen wins gives you a lot of "outs". Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! Post by: Spider-Dan on October 12, 2010, 02:52:09 pm Here's the other thing to keep in mind:
Divisional games only count for tiebreakers. If MIA wins more games than NYJ and NE, then it doesn't matter if we go 0-2 against both of them. So GB is a good opportunity to pick up a win. Title: Re: Miami vs GB next week. GB is beat up!! Post by: Dave Gray on October 12, 2010, 09:40:05 pm If you were to start the season and select winnable games to chart a path to the playoffs, I think that you have to assume that you go 2-2 against the Pats and Jets, since much of our schedule is difficult. ....this is also assuming that the Jets and Pats are good teams, which they appear to be.
Because we lost those 2 games at home, it means we have to make them up on the road or pick up wins against teams that we previously had marked as a loss. Green Bay was one of those games, but with them banged up (and frankly, maybe not as good as we thought), this is the chance. |
