Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder says the only way of preventing helmet-to-helmet hits is to eliminate the helmet. Otherwise he's going to use his, regardless of punishment from league officials. "If I get a chance to knock somebody out, I'm going to knock them out and take what they give me," Crowder said Wednesday. "They give me a helmet, I'm going to use it." I'd be happy if he just made a TACKLE instead of running the gums. when will he learn? that said, what an idiot! now if he commits a helmet to helmet violation, he WILL get suspended----I am sure intent to do the hit is the determining factor, and he's just admitted to it. still....the next big hit I see him make will be the first. He may not make the game changing plays too often but he is a very solid LB.
Having some first hand knowledge with Crowder I can also say he is not dumb by any means although he plays that card to get laughs. He is a fast thinker and although he says a bunch of crazy stuff it is really just his sense of humor. The guy really is pretty smart from what I have been able to observe.
