Title: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders
Post by: dolphins4life on November 28, 2010, 03:50:09 pm
To keep their slim playoff hopes alive, Miami needs a victory over the Raiders.

Needless to say, the offense must do better than that atrocious output against Chicago.

I have not heard who is starting at quarterback today.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think you WANT a link after the way this game starts.

7-0 already after a KO return.

Is it the Raiders D or is this what happens when you open up the offense and let Henne be the man?

Rickie almost screwing us again by fumbling in our redzone. Thank you for playing Long.

Just let Henne throw the ball since the running game doesn't seem like they can't create holes.

And it will not as Henne decides to play Santa Claus again

Let's face guys, Henne is not a good quarterback at all.

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders
Post by: dolfan13 on November 28, 2010, 04:45:38 pm
eh... its what henne does, throw interceptions. they should limit his attempts this game, stick to the running game and wildcat.

I believe he is a good QB he just makes some bad decisions every now and again. He should have thrown it away from he's been good except for that pass.

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders

QB should be our top priority this offseason.

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders
Post by: StL FinFan on November 28, 2010, 04:47:12 pm
he made several good throws and one really bad one

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders
Post by: dolphins4life on November 28, 2010, 04:48:33 pm
And that one bad one has swung this game completely.

He does this a lot.  We got everything going the way we want it and bang, he throws a pick and it all goes downhill from there.

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders
Post by: Cathal on November 28, 2010, 04:48:46 pm
QB should be our top priority this offseason.

Maybe. But with no question, better coaching should be a priority this offseason. I think that's a pretty good consensus.

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders
Post by: dolfan13 on November 28, 2010, 04:49:33 pm
he hasn't been a good qb, that's why they benched him.  something like 10 td's to 12 int's. that's terrible and you can't win with that kind of poor qb play.

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders

True. But again, most everyone on here believes that the coaching staff is holding back to doing Pennington dump off passes. I would just like to hear the coaching staff say we're going as aggressive as we can and let him just launch the ball and give him the green light to audibling. If he has that green light and still screws up, then I'd say to let him go or find something else.

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders

Point is, Henne is bad.  He throws too many picks.

Also, will this be overturned?

hate to keep picking on the guy, but that sack goes on henne. he is basically a robot... can't deviate from the pre-programmed play to recognize that like the entire defense is coming on a blitz. he seriously was going to go through his 5 step drop on that sack...

It's probably because of his knee injury he can't move much, so if the pocket collapses, he can't move much. A quick slant or quick dumpoff should have been called. Who knows.

can henne not see that everyone and the sideline is coming on a blitz? all you have to do on d is look at the offensive set, and change the defense. henne can't change out of a pre-programmed play.

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders
Post by: dolphins4life on November 28, 2010, 05:05:10 pm
Henne stinks, the play calling stinks.

What a disaster after we get that turnover.

This game should be a blowout, but we keep letting the Raiders hang around.

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders

its not even audible... you can go to a hot route or something. recognize where the extra guys are coming from and signal your receiver for some hot route

We are AWESOME!!!!!!

I'm not even watching the game, but checking on cbssports.com, but I can tell the offensive game plan stinks, we are allowing a poor OAK team hang around and we will lose in the 4th Q when we cannot make a play.

we all need to write stephen ross esq. a letter and let him know how displeased we are with the piss poor product he is offering us.

Sparano and Co. need to go OR we need to get rid of a lot of players that cannot produce.

the CULTURE in MIA is pathetic and has been for a long time.  do you think Shula might want to coach again?

I think you guys sound ridiculous with all your moaning and chicken little kneejerking, including those of you that aren't even watching the game.  How can you possibly comment on a game from reading the play by play?

Anyway -- I don't think that Henning is to blame here, yet.  With time still left in the half, we have 10 points, we've missed a FG and Henne threw an INT in the Red Zone.

This is a game that I still think we will win.  Support your team a little bit...jeez.

man, I DO support my team and have been 35 years.  are you not frustrated with the product that this team has put out?  aside from 2008, when's the last time this team made you proud???

I watched some of the PIT game today, while putting up my Xmas tree, only because I'm in Central PA and that's the game we get.  anyways, I HATE the Stillers, will always HATE them.

anways, the point is, when watching PIT play, this team PLAYS the game, period.  they fly to the ball, they're always in position to make the play.  we on the other hand, are not.  we have grand-standers, pouters and just plain bad players on DEF except for maybe 3-4 players.  I'm tired of the product they put out.

one of the bylines the other day on the sun-sentinel was watch out for J. Ford.  so, what has he done so far against us???? only torched us for a KO return for a TD and caught a 40yd pass for a TD.

my thinking is, don't kick the ball to Ford or definitely give attention to Ford.  seems like MIA needs to read the sun-sentinel online.

They took the FG to make it a 2 score game one of which needs to be a TD. Trusting the defense to make plays now.

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders
Post by: MikeO on November 28, 2010, 06:06:33 pm
The Fins REALLY need to lock up Paul Solai now. His agent probably wants him on the open market though. But we can't let him get away. He has really improved as a NT.

And if our next head coach switches us to a 4-3 defense, he will be even more dominate in that type of system

Title: Re: Live Blog: Dolphins at Raiders

He usually solidifies that spot every game. I don't believe he has to worry much about that.

And now, with a 2 score lead and the ball back we can hopefully open up the playbook a little and look to put nails in the coffin.

Henning screws up a good thing once again

It's not all Henning. Sparano can pull rank on Henning. HE doesn't. Lot of blood on Sparano's hand with this crap this year

Killer penalty. We probably score a TD on this drive then and end the game. Can rest Henne the rest of teh way.

Hey Carpenter has had a GREAT season. Trusting him with a 50 yard FG I would have done as well. Can't knock Sparano for that. Tough kick, tough miss. Not a big deal.

Defense came up big with a pick. Clemons actually CAUGHT an INT

Is it just me or did it seem like Henning decided 2-18 was insurmountable, but two decent runs would set up a nice field goal. Only when the run failed completely (huge passing down and you get 2 yards??) did he decide to let Henne throw it.

This conservatism / playing-not-to-lose is going to get us killed.

The lack of coaching in many areas has been a problem all year. And before this team contends for the playoffs or a Super Bowl a change at the very top must be made. The Fins today are winning in spite of their head coach and offensive coordinator

Henne took a smart sack. didn't force the ball or turn it over.

He's young. He is gonna make mistakes. Gotta live with it. In year 3 or 4 of his career he can't be making these mistakes, but in only his 2nd full season it isn't like Henne is so god awful you bench him.

It's not a brilliant opinion to have or anything. Most coaches have it. But Sparano was feeling the heat that his job was slipping away and he saw a pink slip in his future. So he screwed the organization and played a Vet in Pennington in hopes of saving his job. Sparano put his own self interest over the organizations long-term best interst. Which is why he must go.

Sanchez throws his share of INT's, they dont' consider benching him. Bradford in St.Louis has had some rough games, they keep him out there. Stafford (when healthy) has played poorly at times, they keep him out there. You don't get PEYTON MANNING overnight. Even in Manning's rookie year he threw 28 INT's. YOU LIVE WITH IT!

that's cool, but why get pissed when they run a more conservative offense? accept the fact that your young qb is going to throw too many int, but at least limit his attempts.

you don't limit his attempts to the point where you limit your team a chance of winning. That's what Sparano and Henning do

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm fully aware most coaches are of that opinion. In fact, I used to be under the impression that the vast majority of remotely sane people were of that opinion. There just seem to be a significant (or at least annoyingly vocal) amount of posters here who don't get it.

well our coach doesn't get it and thats why he has to go. Although I have a bad feeling if we finish strong beating up on the likes of Oakland, Detroit, Cleveland and Buffalo Ross might be fooled into keeping this clown around. Thinking he actually accomplished something beating up on the little sisters of the poor the final month of the year.
