Title: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: StL FinFan on November 28, 2010, 07:14:33 pm I'm giving it equally to Bess and Henne with HM to Bell.

Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: MikeO on November 28, 2010, 07:30:54 pm Henne had his best game (injured mind you) without Brandon Marshall. That says something. It might say that the Raiders really suck. OR it says Marshall is a bit of a cancer on our offense and might be in Henne's head. Chad thinking he has to get him the ball and force things to him. Which is effecting Henne's play.

Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: Brian Fein on November 29, 2010, 01:58:16 am YB had a great game, but can't overshadow Bess. Big catches on 3rd and longs to convert, and a great 40-something yard punt return.
Bess gets the game ball, with HM to Henne and YB Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: hordman on November 29, 2010, 07:18:36 am Henne had his best game (injured mind you) without Brandon Marshall. Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: MaineDolFan on November 29, 2010, 09:48:21 am Marshall for sitting this one out and letting Miami's offense but balanced.
Thanks, Brandon. Feel free to sit them all out. Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: bsfins on November 29, 2010, 10:33:27 am Bess...I love you man :o
HM Raiders game plan against us.....Silly Raiders, don't you know we struggle to throw against soft zone coverage...... Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: Sunstroke on November 29, 2010, 10:45:07 am Can't argue with Bess...can't argue with Henne. Both played outstanding games.
With that said, I'm going to give my game ball to an obscure player who easily had his best game as a pro, in an area that we'd been hurting, and it had a direct effect on Miami getting this big win. I nominate: Backup S and special teamer, Jonathon Amaya In his first 4 games since being promoted from the practice squad, Amaya had 4 total tackles. On Sunday, he had 4 solo tackles on special teams, with two of them being very nice open field jobs that could have led to decent return yards had it not been for the excellent wrap-up skills of Amaya. He didn't make any highlight reels, but it was a very solid performance anyway. Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: Philly Fin Fan on November 29, 2010, 10:55:55 am I think the game ball needs to go to Mike Nolan for the defensive scheme which held the second highest rushing offense in the NFL to 16 yds. The fact that Oakland couldn't run the ball obviously hurt their offense and helped the Fin's offense gain confidence (better field position, not having to play from behind most of the game, etc).
Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: Landshark on November 29, 2010, 11:11:24 am I agree with both Stl Fin Fan and Philly Fin Fan. I'm giving mine to Bess and Henne with an Honorable Mention to Mike Nolan.
Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: CF DolFan on November 29, 2010, 11:28:00 am I'm giving mine to Andre Johnson who knows how to finish!!
Ok So I can't do that ... I'm going with Henne for showing that a QB makes all the difference. We were a different team with him versus without him. Now if Henning would just realize that. Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: JVides on November 29, 2010, 11:56:19 am I'll give mine to Bess. Clutch. HM to whomever decided to run the effing ball finally! Can we all agree that running the ball 30-40 times is the key to offensive success?
Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: bsfins on November 29, 2010, 12:40:10 pm ^^^ It makes those Play action fakes, actually mean something.... :o :P :D
Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: fyo on November 29, 2010, 01:28:37 pm Can we all agree that running the ball 30-40 times is the key to offensive success? Not necessarily, but if we're within a score or so, we should definitely keep trying to run it, that we can agree on. Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: Phishfan on November 29, 2010, 02:39:48 pm Can we all agree that running the ball 30-40 times is the key to offensive success? I can't say I completely agree either. I think it was an aberration that Miami was able to have 79 offensive plays in the game. In a typical game if we ran the ball 40 times I would expect we would only pass it a handful and we don't run the ball that well. Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: Pappy13 on November 29, 2010, 03:10:18 pm ^^ The way I see it, running the ball 30 times is not what wins the game for you, it's the reverse. Playing from ahead in the game is what allows you to run the ball 30 times.
The unsung hero in this game was the defense. They did an absolutely amazing job shutting down the running game of Oakland. My game ball goes to the Dolphins Defense. They only gave up 10 points and pretty much all of those points came from just 2 plays. Other than those 2 plays Oakland's offense was non existant. Title: Re: Game ball vs Raiders Post by: JVides on November 29, 2010, 08:38:32 pm Ok, maybe not 40 times, but half of the time at least. The Fins consistently seem to score more when they feature the run game first and passing game second.
