Title: Brett Favre in Miami?
Post by: Dave Gray on January 04, 2011, 02:08:01 pm
Though I think Favre is done in the NFL, Tony Kornheiser keeps saying that he has a feeling that Favre will end up as Miami's QB next season.  I've seen nothing to suggest that, other than his hunch, but it got me thinking.  I can't think of many Dolphins fans who have a positive opinion on Favre, and I think bringing him here could backfire, though I think that fans are stupid and will ultimately come for the circus, either way.

As a Dolphin fan (or another team's fan in Miami's shoes), do you think Favre is a good acquisition?

I am more OK with Favre than most people I know, but seriously the sun has set on that career.

I thought this was a post to have a good laff and lighten the mood with all this talk of firing & hiring of new coaches.

May God Strike Favre Dead Before He Put on a Dolphins Uniform!!!!!!

No, I don't want him in Miami, I'd rather take my chances with Henne.

Yes, I think Favre would come out of retirement to play in Miami if the money was right and they treated him like the prima donna he is which means don't expect him to show up till a week before the season starts and don't expect him to have to compete for the QB position.

I'm undecided on whether or not it would backfire.  If Tony is retained, bringing in Favre might just be what get's him fired, he did it in New York and Minnesota.  In that case it might work out for the best.

I'd rather see Lil_B lace up the cleats and play QB for Miami than see Brett Favre under center.

The only way I see Favre playing anywhere next year is if we have a lockout that ends gets resolved a week before labor day. Teams are told that the regular season will be played as normal.  Meaning you have two week to get your team into camp, have camp, and get ready to play your season opener.  Less for the two teams playing on Thursday night.   No preseason games.

In which case a team will likely decided that Favre is a good stop gap measure until the rookie they drafted learns the play book.  It would also likely keep Henne behind center for the Dolphins as he would be the only QB the Dolphins have that knows the playbook.

I wouldn't mind having Favre on the team if he came to be a backup and mentor of Henne.  The only downside would be if Henne got injured, Favre would probably get injured in the same game.

You think there is any chance of that?  Brett Favre signing with a team to be the backup and mentor.

Not me.  If BLF comes out of retirement for a 5th time, it is to be the starter.

^^^ I don't think there is a cance in he!! of that happening.  Just saying that would be the only way I would want him on the team.
