Title: Worst "Black-Eye Moment" in Dolphins History? Post by: jtex316 on January 28, 2011, 11:43:11 am Instructions:
1. Vote 2. Comment Title: Re: Worst "Black-Eye Moment" in Dolphins History? Post by: jtex316 on January 28, 2011, 11:46:35 am I don't like voting for the most recent thing in polls like these because a lot of times the recency of it makes us forget about other events that happened before.
But I voted for Sparano / Ross and their "Situation" that developed at the end of the 2010 regular season. It was a comedy of communication errors by all parties involved, and it saw something border-line insane, as in pursuing a new head coach while your current head coach is still on the staff. Very bizarre. Title: Re: Worst "Black-Eye Moment" in Dolphins History? Post by: Pappy13 on January 28, 2011, 11:53:11 am Has to be Ricky. He single handedly deep-sixed the season because he couldn't stop smoking dope. It doesn't get any worse than that. I love Ricky, but man he was messed up then.

It would not have been as bad if he had done it a lot earlier and at least gave us a chance to find a replacement (well it might have but at least we would have had more time) but the timing was so close to the start of the season that it left us high (no pun intended) and dry and without our biggest offensive threat and no backup plan.
Title: Re: Worst "Black-Eye Moment" in Dolphins History? Post by: Tenshot13 on January 28, 2011, 12:21:54 pm I voted for the 1-15 season. It was embarrassing to go to the sports bar every weekend and Lion fans had their heads held higher than mine.

Post by: Sunstroke on January 28, 2011, 12:51:19 pm I went with the 1-15 season as well...that was just a bad time to be a football fan in S FL. Title: Re: Worst "Black-Eye Moment" in Dolphins History? Post by: Frimp on January 28, 2011, 01:15:50 pm I have to say the current situation. THis is just bad, and becomes more laughable as the days go by. The 2007 season doesnt sting as much because of 2008. However, unless we are all wrong about what can/will happen with the current circus, it will be haunting us for many years to come.

Title: Re: Worst "Black-Eye Moment" in Dolphins History? Post by: Jim Gray on January 28, 2011, 01:50:52 pm As long as we are dredging this stuff up, how about Marino taking the job as the VP of Football Operations..........and then resigning within a few weeks.

Although I feel the same way this made me crack up out loud. Nicely put my friend!!!! ;D Title: Re: Worst "Black-Eye Moment" in Dolphins History? Post by: Dolarltexas on January 29, 2011, 12:52:11 pm I voted for the 1-15 season. That was the first, and so far the only time, that people actually pointed at my Dolphins attire and laughed. And, no, I am not kidding or exaggerating.
Title: Re: Worst "Black-Eye Moment" in Dolphins History? Post by: Dolarltexas on January 29, 2011, 01:00:43 pm I'd like to suggest one other infamous moment. Many people are too young to remember the Randy Crowder and Don Reese cocaine scandal. The team's dirty laundry was aired nationwide. The whole disguisting mess was literally displayed on the front cover of Sports Illustrated. That issue was the first, and as far as I know, the only time that the first page of an article was printed on the magazine's cover rather than inside the magazine. Crowder and Reese should have been the first members of the Ring of Dishonor. Here is good link on the whole sordid mess: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/content/sports/epaper/2004/10/31/a1b_crowder_1031.html
