Title: What are you good at? What are you a "natural" at? Post by: bsfins on March 25, 2011, 11:05:37 am This stuck in my kraw lastnight,while trying to go to sleep last night.(didn't help I slept most of the day trying to feel better :D)
The stuff I do in 3d modeling/ photoshop/illustrator,etc,etc...I just kept at it,and tried to use all the stuff from art classes I took in high school.I can't pick up a pencil and paper and just draw you something...well I can,but it would be pretty horrific looking,because I can barely draw a straight line free hand... What are you good at? What is something that came naturally to you? (Modified to fix some bad typing errors,you're screwed with the bad grammer) Title: Re: What are you good at? Like I know that if I need the best Photoshop work, I write to Lil B. He's the go-to guy for Photoshop.

Post by: bsfins on March 25, 2011, 12:40:58 pm I feel the same way as Brian does...Even the photoshop thing,I have a friend that is SOOOoooo much better than me.I was probably better than him when we first met, but we used photoshop differently,he used it everyday at work,and photoshop was just a stepping stone to other programs for me.So, Today,when I need something that is over my head, I ask him.I took the Photorealism side,he took the graphic design route,and I struggle mightily with the stuff that comes so easy to him.All the stuff that I thought Ehh,why do I wanna know that? He gobbled up,and vice versa.
I want to say football, but my Dad's side of the family are all ripe with football/hockey players.In an odd way My Mom's side is baseball/football. The only thing I could say,and it's a bit of a misnomer,I'm a water baby..I love water,almost to the point of having no fear of it. The misnomer part of that is,I'm landlocked hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean,and I'm not sure if that getting older,knowing too much part of my brain would kick in if I'm standing on the beach in front of the ocean.In the lakes and rivers that I play in,I have no fear of a man eating goonch,a let loose pirahna,or such...Snakes are my biggest fear.The ocean on the other hand,has many,many things that could sting me,take a bite of me,or kill me. It was kind of passed though the generations of my family. People are always amazed at my story of drinking moonshine with my 80 year old grandfather until 4 AM.

Also, music and photography. I'm getting better with Photoshop, but I have a LOOOONG way to go before I can even come close to even thinking about being as good as Lil B on a bad day with 2 broken hands. lol However, as far as photo manipulation on Photoshop, I would consider myself elite. I've always been good at organizing and promoting/marketing events. That started in my teenage years, and has always been something I would like to do for a career, but without any formal training, I doubt I could go to a firm and expect the job. I'm good at darts. Used to be really good before I had shoulder surgery. Now, I'm just average. I'm good at speaking in front of crowds too. Title: Re: What are you good at? What are you a "natural" at? I am extremely good at saying "whatever needs to be said" to avoid getting in trouble. I think this is a byproduct of another thing I am very good at, which is getting an emotional "read" on people very quickly. I am naturally ambidextrous, and can freak folks out sometimes at the dart board by alternating hands with each dart toss. I am also pretty outstanding at procrastination. But if you have a 360, with a little warm up, I think I would be ok in San Diego. I wanted to meet you in Oakland, but my plans fell through.
