Title: Pryor Allowed in Supplemental Draft
Post by: fyo on August 18, 2011, 11:11:18 am
But has his 5-game NCAA suspension carried over. Strange precedent, IMHO.

Anyway, is the guy worth a pick? If so, where?

Considering his athleticism, I think once you get to the 4th round, it's pretty much a no-brainer. As a GM, it would be valuable to talk to him first, though, to gauge what kind of mindset he has and if it's likely that work ethic and attitude are going to be significant problems going forward.

He isn't likely to play in his first 5 games anyway, so the suspension is minimal.  I think, as a fan of a team who needs some QB help, I'd like to see the Dolphins take a crack at him.

I enjoyed watching him at OSU, but really have zero interest in seeing Terrelle Pryor as part of the Dolphins or 49ers. He's a younger Tarvaris Jackson, imo, and that doesn't make much of an NFL QB.

Fuck Pryor. They should have declared him ineligible and said good luck.

He can't *practice* with the team, either. That hurts, IMHO, and makes it unlikely that he could contribute at all this season.

He would most likely not contribute much this season anyways so again I am not seeing how this was much of a punishment.

I don't think Pryors talents at the collegiate level equate to him being a decent talent in the NFL. I don't see this guy being much of anything and like Stroke I do not want to see him in Miami or AZ. I am ok if he goes to the 9ers though  :P!!!!!

Sarcastic take on the decision (particularly the carrying over of the suspension) on ESPN:

Really rare to see that kind of sarcasm in mainstream media. I like it...

I think he's worth a 7th round pick.  So what if he can't practice for 5 weeks, it's next years' pick thats being used so you still get him early.  The way injuries have hit the Dolphins QB's the last couple years the Fins might need another QB come November.  Additionally, if Henne sucks through the first 12-13 games you could give him some game time the last couple weeks to see if he's got anything.
