Title: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: dolphins4life on August 23, 2011, 10:00:58 pm I have decided that it will be on Saturday, September 3rd, at 8 pm.
Also, yes passing TDs will be only worth four points. All scoring will be the same as in previous years. The reason most fantasy leagues have passing TDs worth only 4 is because there are so few good QBs in the league as compared to RBs so if they were treated equally, the teams that picked first in the draft, would have a much bigger advantage. Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Guru-In-Vegas on August 23, 2011, 10:54:17 pm ^ Terrible idea.
"There are so few good QBs in the league compared to RBs..." That alone should give more weight to their performances. Why even use a higher draft choice for a QB if their production is just going to be nerfd anyway? QBs are going to get drafted in the First time commish aren't you? Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: mecadonzilla on August 23, 2011, 11:18:48 pm It's a pretty common practice really. I'm finding it the average scoring system these days.
Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Tenshot13 on August 24, 2011, 08:45:48 am Boo on Saturday night. Majority of people go out Saturday night. Why not Sunday night same time?
Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on August 24, 2011, 01:21:04 pm I hate the 4 points for TD's by a QB. I am in a lot of leagues and this is the only one that has suggested 4 points for a TD for QB's. That scoring set sucks and the logic behind it is even worse and I do believe we used 6 points las year as well in the TDMMC league.
Why are we moving the draft I thought we were going to pick this Sunday? Next weekend is Labor Day weekend why anyone does a draft that weekend is beyond me as many people (at least that I know personally) are busy or head out of town. I will not be in town or have internet access on Labor Day Weekend so if that is the case and you can not find another player Tubba can have my spot as I hate auto drafted teams. Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Brian Fein on August 24, 2011, 02:29:19 pm 4-point passing TD's is common practice. 6 points overvalues QB's. A QB can have a pedestrian day and throw 3 TD's and score the same as a RB or WR that has a blow-up 200-yard 2 TD day.
The fact that QB's typically have 25-40 TD's for the season and RB's/WR's average 15-22 makes the point difference make sense. Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Guru-In-Vegas on August 24, 2011, 03:52:17 pm Common practice? I've never been in a league with that score set in over 10 years.
Also, it does not over value the position because : 1. Most of the time, you only start 1 QB per team and usually 2 or more WRs and RBs. 2. A pedestrian 3 td day? Really? Same can be said about a Jerome Bettis type RB who gets punched in from the goal line but really didn't do anything. 3. QBs throw way more picks than RBs lose fumbles. You must account for those loss of points. Some leagues even penalize QBs for taking sacks. 4. Unless your league is really nuts, QBs usually get 1 point for either every 25 yards or 50. So 400 yards passing ( an awesome game! ) gets you 16 or 8 points. Compared to a 160 yard rushing day (usually 1 point for 10 yards). 400 yards passing > 160 yards rushing in an actual game IMHO. BTW... A good commish never just changes draft dates by just sayin "I have decided..." Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Sunstroke on August 24, 2011, 04:11:19 pm 4 points for a passing TD is the standard scoring for basic ESPN and Yahoo leagues. To do an ESPN league that doesn't have 4-point passing TDs, you have to create a custom league. BTW... A good commish never just changes draft dates by just sayin "I have decided..." A good commish never changes "anything" involving the league settings or draft date without putting the proposed changes in front of the league for consideration... Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: dolphins4life on August 24, 2011, 04:28:31 pm We cannot do it on a Sunday evening at 8, because yahoo will not allow me to set it that date.
We could do it on a weekday evening, but again, I need you guys to talk to me Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: dolphins4life on August 24, 2011, 04:38:12 pm AHA!!!!! Good news everybody!!!!
Now it will let me set it this Sunday at eight. I have done this. Does that work for everybody? LET ME KNOW!!!! We have plenty of time to change if it doesn't work Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: dolphins4life on August 24, 2011, 04:40:36 pm Also, if the majority of players do want a passing TD to be six, I'll make it six.
Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Tenshot13 on August 24, 2011, 04:51:50 pm Good job on the draft day change, I can work with that. I vote six points, but doesn't matter all that much to me either way.
Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Guru-In-Vegas on August 24, 2011, 05:21:14 pm A good commish never changes "anything" involving the league settings or draft date without putting the proposed changes in front of the league for consideration... Much better than what I said. ;) Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on August 24, 2011, 05:56:52 pm I vote for 6 but whatever the majority wants I will live with. Sunday at 8 (5 my time) works for me.
Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: mecadonzilla on August 24, 2011, 09:45:58 pm 4 or 6. Does it really matter?
My vote is I don't care. Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: tubba marxxx on August 26, 2011, 10:36:48 am Count me out, I'm going to be at an Incubus show that weekend....plus I never received an email with info :(

If someone else wants in, you can put me back in. It's just not the same without the mods. They must be doing a mods only league this year. Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: tubba marxxx on August 27, 2011, 07:32:33 pm I downloaded the yahoo fantasy football app on my phone....maybe I can draft from there, worst case scenario
Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Sunstroke on August 27, 2011, 08:03:16 pm I know I'm just messing with you. If someone else wants in, you can put me back in. It's just not the same without the mods. They must be doing a mods only league this year. Not the case at all... There is no mods-only league, or any other TDMMC-based league outside the one that you folks are in. The mods (and former mods) who have been staples of this league in the past are simply taking a year off from the TDMMC league. Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: StL FinFan on August 27, 2011, 09:10:43 pm Either way, it's not the same.

If not goodluck guys! Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Sunstroke on August 28, 2011, 09:19:53 am way to support tdmmc! ;) After spending 4 years setting up every single fantasy game for TDMMC, and three years doing a weekly TDMMC radio show, I've got your support right here, hanging to the left of center. ;) Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Pats2006 on August 28, 2011, 09:30:23 pm After spending 4 years setting up every single fantasy game for TDMMC, and three years doing a weekly TDMMC radio show, I've got your support right here, hanging to the left of center. ;) hahahh lmao.. good point Title: Re: TDMMC fantasy live draft Post by: Sunstroke on September 07, 2011, 12:12:23 pm You guys should post a link to the draft recap for that league, so I can handicap the TDMMC contenders...
