Title: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: Brian Fein on October 18, 2011, 07:04:07 pm for Jerome Harrison
Interesting trade. Seems like a net-zero, but maybe leaning a bit towards the Lions. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/post/eagles-trade-ronnie-brown-to-lions-for-jerome-harrison/2011/10/18/gIQAQD39uL_blog.html Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: tepop84 on October 18, 2011, 07:32:41 pm for Jerome Harrison Interesting trade. Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: MikeO on October 18, 2011, 08:24:17 pm Hope Ronnie invested well, I think this is his last year in the league.
Another guy who flat out can't play anymore Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: EKnight on October 19, 2011, 04:24:00 pm Definitely NOT a net zero. Philly made out on this one- they cut Jerome Harrison in favor of Brown, then got him back PLUS a draft pick. The funny thing about the trade is just about every web site reporting it has a big picture of Ronnie's fumble as the headlining pic for the news, lol! -EK
Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: mecadonzilla on October 19, 2011, 05:36:18 pm That's the only play of note he's made this year. LOL
I'm afraid Ronnie is washed up. It looks like he's been playing scared for a few seasons now. Injuries have taken their toll on him. Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: MikeO on October 19, 2011, 07:25:26 pm Trade was VOIDED. Ronnie back in Philly.
Sure that is somewhat akward. Hey Ronnie welcome back, we tried to get rid of ya but since your back give us 100% will ya. lol Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: jtex316 on October 19, 2011, 08:27:38 pm I like how it took Philly 6 games to realize that Brown sucked, when it took the Dolphins 5 years and a #2 overall pick.

And some here on this board were crying we didn't bring him back. LOL Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: miamid45 on October 19, 2011, 09:55:11 pm Another 1st round bust...well done Dolphins...well done!

Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: JVides on October 20, 2011, 02:01:49 pm As much as I liked the guy's potential (and let's be honest, he would've had a monster year in the Cam Cameron offense if he'd been healthy the full year) I think Ronnie hit the big back wall, which is to say he lost his wasn't-elite-anyway speed.
Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: Sunstroke on October 20, 2011, 03:10:43 pm Turns out that, during the physical, Harrison was found to have a brain tumor...and that's what shot the deal. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7127181/jerome-harrison-tumor-which-voided-detroit-lions-philadelphia-eagles-trade-source-says (http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7127181/jerome-harrison-tumor-which-voided-detroit-lions-philadelphia-eagles-trade-source-says) Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: CF DolFan on October 20, 2011, 03:30:25 pm How in depth is that physical? I swear I always thought they were just a formality.

Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: mecadonzilla on October 20, 2011, 08:52:14 pm Who would have thought a trade might save someone's life? LOL
Title: Re: Ronnie Brown to Detroit Post by: EKnight on October 23, 2011, 11:23:26 am I like how it took Philly 6 games to realize that Brown sucked, when it took the Dolphins 5 years and a #2 overall pick. Some of you guys are just SOOOOO dramatic. Before his knee injury in 2007, the guy was leading the league in yards from scrimmage, and on pace for 2200 total yards for the year. He's third on the all-time Dolphins rushing list in yards and TD's, and averaged a very respectable 4.3 yards per carry while he was there. It's not like he sucked the entire time we had him- in fact your above statement is so wrong, you forgot to take into account that because Miami cut Brown, they actually figured out he was past his prime 6 games BEFORE Philly did. -EK |
