Well with have the season over it looks like the NBA is set to play this year.. How do you guys think its going to effect the season?

I think for the Celtics the layoff has only helped the old struggling team.. Celtics have been starting off hot but towards the end of the season there old ass body's cant seem to pull threw the playoffs.. see what happens this year.. cant wait to see the C's play.. long over due!

I understand what fyo is trying to say. I am taking a business English class, and it is funny to see the level of incorrect usage of English on the internet.

But as to your original post, I am not excited as usual. I did not think there would be a season, so I did not keep up on what moves the Pistons did to try and improve. I have no confidence that they will be much better this year.

This should be interesting, not that i'll be watching much, usually NBA players don't really start playing until after Christmas anyways.

I think with the increased back to backs and the proposed back to back to backs it could actually hurt the older teams like the Celtics and the Spurs who need the breaks in between games. Either way I will most likely place and asterisk on this seasons champ like I do with the 99 Spurs team. I am happy to have the NBA returning however.

I would have to agree with the overall thought of Pats. The Celtics are old, so I am hopeful that a shortened schedule will help they out. They can still play, however, their knees and bodies just can't take the abuse of a full season.

Yep, I'm excited for the season as well.  I think early on teams like the Spurs and Cs will benefit as their time together will be an advantage over other teams that are learning to play together.  Eventually, though, they'll get tired.

To have an effect on something is to affect it. The "effect" is the result, "affect" the influence.

Effect can be a verb, meaning "to bring about / create", almost always in one specific usage: "to effect change".
Affect can be a noun, meaning an emotional display / mood, but unless you're a shrink... ;)

That's HILARIOUS! Although probably less so for anyone who hasn't seen Inglorious Bastards. Fortunately, I saw it just few months ago.

Does anyone have an idea when we'll see a revised schedule?  I haven't seen an announcement of anything except generalities.  Do you suppose they'll keep the big games the same -- HEAT/Dallas on X-Mas, for example.

Rumor is they'll try to keep as many games as possible on the same dates -- or at least with the same home team. It comes down to venue availability. Almost a dozen teams share facilities with an NHL team and venues are booked for other events as well, making it a bit of a logistical nightmare.

From what I have heard and this is also speculation that the Christmas Day games will not change and the games that were slated for that day are still on.
