Title: If you're the St Louis Rams, do you select Andrew Luck with the #1 pick?

Title says it all, if you were the Rams GM, would you select Andrew Luck with the #1 pick, or trade down to get more picks.

The Rams need a lot of help.  They'd be better served by drafting O-lineman that can keep Bradford upright.

Agreed

If the going price for Luck is four 1st-round picks, trade him.  No question.

Hell yes.

If Adam Schefter is correct and its 4 first rounders. Or 3 first rounders with 2 second rounders, I probably would considering I have a Sam Bradford on my roster.

If they didn't have Bradford, then hell no.

Trade and fill your needs.

It is so much easier to sit here and say trade picks than it actually is. I don't see being able to get four first round picks from anyone. If they are holding to that, they don't draft Luck or trade out.

I was debating this today, actually.  The problem with trading four firsts is that the GM who does it probably won't be around long enough to see the fruits of his labor.

Again, this points me in the direction of Cleveland.  If they can swing 3 firsts+2 seconds, that only handicaps CLE for two drafts.  And Holmgren has the cachet to stay there for longer than 3 years, no matter the outcome.

I will also say this:  for all the talk of Luck being a "good guy" and not choosing his destination, if CLE winds up with the pick, we'll see if he can walk the walk.  I can think of few better candidates for rejection than the hollowed-out, cursed city of Cleveland.  Just ask LeBron.

(Disclaimer: I am an Indians fan.)

True, but if Luck is smart he will run to Cleveland. The bar will be set really really low there. That city is so hungry for any success if Luck can just lead the team to 8-8 within the first couple years, they will love him and build a statue of him outside the stadium! Where as if he goes elsewhere they are going to expect a lot more real soon.

The Rams have no choice.  They have to trade down because Bradford, with that old #1 draft pick contract, is unmovable.

Trade down.  The Rams need so many players it's not even funny.  You'll never know if Bradford is any good if he spends the entire game on the sideline from the beating he's taking or on his back when he can get on the field.
