Title: Mike Pettine Post by: MikeO on January 02, 2012, 06:27:28 pm If the Fins are interviewing Mike Pettine to pick his brain and get dirt on the Jets, ok. I get it, gamesmanship that goes on around the league, nothing new. IF they are seriously considering him as a head coach I am confused.
The Dolphins were 6th in scoring defense this year in the entire NFL. The Jets were 20th! And the Jets got Revis, the best defensive player in the league. And Miami's #1 CB missed a bunch of games. Not to mention Pettine doesn't even call the defensive plays for the Jets, Rex does. What has this guy done to warrant an interview? If we are gonna hire a defensive coach as a head coach might as well just promote Nolan, at least his defense performed and produced on the field. This is the one name on the list of guys the Fins are talking too that confuses me. Unless like I said they are just picking his brain and trying to get dirt on the Jets. What you said, or they are trying to not look desperate by talking to a bunch of people. Not sure how that would work but with this FO, who knows. |
