Title: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on April 04, 2012, 10:28:24 am Last year only about 4 or 5 of us did this, but I did find it interesting, and fun......
Quick Explanation...for those who didn't play, you select 1 MLB player a day to get a hit,as long as he get's one hit that day...You win,he fails you lose....The players lock when the first game of the day starts... I pretty sure it was Brian who started this last year, but I remember joining about mid year...I was hoping for a slightly better jump getting started this year... Who's up for it this year? Shall I make a group? Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 04, 2012, 11:51:15 am I'm up for it (duh) ...go ahead and make the group and I'll hop on in. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: SportsChick on April 04, 2012, 12:42:18 pm When I just logged in, it already had me in a TDMMC group - assuming from last year?
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on April 04, 2012, 01:22:54 pm ^^ Woohoo...I'm there too!
This morning when I posted this it said groups weren't available yet, would be available tonight/tomorrow ... So the group is already there! Just search for TDMMC... The site is MLB.com,under the fantasy tab, then Scott's Beat the streak (A free MLB.com account required to play) http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/fantasy/?tcid=nav_mlb_fantasy (http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/fantasy/?tcid=nav_mlb_fantasy) Modified to add...Anyone notice the changes this year? I've not seen any jump picks (the guy you automatically pick if you forget to pick if you have a streak of 3 or less) The one Get out of jail free card, one time if you have a streak broken between 5-9 you get a free pass.... The Double down, being able to pick two people, but both have to hit or your streak is broken...but goes up by two if you win.... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on April 04, 2012, 01:52:52 pm I like the new "double down" feature
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 04, 2012, 01:56:59 pm Yeah I am back in for sure....already made my picks and when I checked with the group I was already in the TDMMC from last year. Good luck to you all.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 04, 2012, 02:01:10 pm I'm in with the Double Down in the opener... Go Gaby and Omar!! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 04, 2012, 02:03:29 pm I went for the double dip myself......I will probably use that quite a bit to get a good streak going then start getting more conservative. My goal is to pass my 15? gamer from last season. I think that is what it was.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 04, 2012, 02:05:23 pm I think you are right on the 15... I was one behind you on my last streak at the end of the year, and I'm pretty sure I was at 14. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on April 04, 2012, 02:13:25 pm I'm in for Reyes and Omar tonight. Nothing to lose.

I was gonna pick Freese, should've stuck with my gut Well turns out Molina had two hits while Holliday went 0'fer. So yeah....Molina lol!!!!! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 05, 2012, 11:04:23 pm Got my first double-down...Jay Bruce and Joey Votto. Have a D-D set up for the next 3 days, starting with Kinsler-Pujols tomorrow. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on April 06, 2012, 11:15:15 am the double dip seems to be harder than i thought. I've got 1 of 2 for 2 days in a row.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 06, 2012, 01:21:49 pm I think I'm staying away from the double dip for a while. Too risky.
Let's go Cano!! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 06, 2012, 02:47:33 pm First hitter of the first game of the day, and Ian Kinsler gets me halfway to another D-D. Now I just need Mr Pujols to get my streak to 4... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 07, 2012, 11:10:32 pm Thank you Howard Kendrick!!

Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 10, 2012, 01:39:10 pm Finally nailed my first double dip with an Aramis Ramirez/Brandon Phillips combo.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 10, 2012, 02:45:14 pm JOOOOSE, JOSE, JOSE JOSE, JOOOOOOOOOSEEEE, JOOOOOOOOOSEEEEEE,
first time I've been able to say that since he left my Mets..hopefully Braun can keep my streak alive tonight Edit: First double-down attempt, Ryan Braun and Andre Either Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 11, 2012, 11:35:37 am got heeeeeeeeeeem
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 11, 2012, 06:44:58 pm I got my second consecutive double dip last night with the combo of Either/Braun. I had Cabrera today and he got a hit as well....streak is up to 5.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 11, 2012, 06:59:34 pm fuck you Pedroia
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 11, 2012, 07:00:07 pm Uh-oh.....must have been the streak killer!!!!!!
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: SportsChick on April 11, 2012, 11:01:56 pm Dude, as a Red Sox fan I say this -nicely run away from the Sox right now. Their offense os AWFUL.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 12, 2012, 12:29:16 am Dude, as a Red Sox fan I say this -nicely run away from the Sox right now. Their offense os AWFUL. I got sucked in with a solid career average against Romero. I should've just stuck with Matt Kemp like I had..I got greedy with the double down Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on April 12, 2012, 09:48:45 am I hit 1 of 2 on a double dip and got 1. Wierd. I guess if you pick 2 and one doesn't play, you get the 1.
Not complaining. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 12, 2012, 03:18:21 pm I hit 1 of 2 on a double dip and got 1. Wierd. I guess if you pick 2 and one doesn't play, you get the 1. Not complaining. Yeah if a player ends up not being in the starting line-up and you choose him, it doesn't count against you..unless he pinch hits and doesn't hit. Then you're beat. Also, is there a loop-hole in this double down/dip/whatever? I've seen people double up on the same player. Does that work? Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on April 12, 2012, 03:54:31 pm ^^ Oooh, never thought of that! sneaky sneaky!
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 12, 2012, 03:56:03 pm Also, is there a loop-hole in this double down/dip/whatever? I've seen people double up on the same player. Does that work? Not sure how you could pull that off... I just tried to put the same player in there twice for the double down, and it didn't give me the option at all. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 12, 2012, 04:22:28 pm ^^ If you click on the leaders section, you'll see a couple of people with doubled up on the same player.
Not sure how it works either, could be a clitch? hacked? idk, I'm not computer savvy lol Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 12, 2012, 04:45:46 pm ^^^ I'll follow up my "Not sure it's possible" post with a "why would you do it?" If they are cheating to get around the rule, then if they DO happen to get to a 57-streak, you know that MLB.com is going to see what they did and make them forfeit the prize... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 12, 2012, 06:56:19 pm ^^^ I'll follow up my "Not sure it's possible" post with a "why would you do it?" Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on April 16, 2012, 10:11:25 am I guess there's no jumpstart pick this year? I forgot to make picks over the weekend and went into the crapper. I thought I remembered picking A-Gone as my jumpstart pick...
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on April 16, 2012, 11:50:33 am ^^ Yeah I mentioned that when the season started, I didn't even see where to input them...
^^ If you click on the leaders section, you'll see a couple of people with doubled up on the same player. Not sure how it works either, could be a clitch? hacked? idk, I'm not computer savvy lol Maybe you're looking at the results wrong....It's up and down for the picks that day, they might have picked the same guy back,to back days (the name appearing next to each other.......I didn't see anyone who picked the same person twice in the same day,the only way I could see that happening is a double header.I admit to not following too closely this year, that might have been one this year? Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 16, 2012, 03:20:44 pm Sitting on a 9 game streak currently and looking to extend that today with a little Miggy Cabrera action.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 17, 2012, 01:44:52 pm Miggy didn't do shit.....streak over!!!!!
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on April 17, 2012, 04:24:44 pm I have to admit, While my paltry 4 game max winning streak I had till yesterday made me feel good....I'm ecstatic that we started so early, and not too worried about getting a long streak going yet (I have very little hope of getting a 20+ streak, but Damn I'm gonna try!) I think we'll eventually get in a nice rhythm, and have some nice streaks going...
Since we are still really early,Predict what you think your longest streak will be this year.... I think sometime in May or June...I'll get a 13 gamer,it will probably be my years best...(I think that's 1 or 2 better than last year) Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 17, 2012, 05:05:41 pm ^^^^^
While last year I had a 15 gamer I would like to say that I improve upon that so I will go with at least a 20 game streak this year and hope for more. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on April 17, 2012, 05:28:43 pm I won't get past 5
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: SportsChick on April 17, 2012, 08:47:03 pm I had an 8 or 9 last year, so I want to beat that
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 18, 2012, 03:00:50 pm I'm tryin to get to 57..call me crazy
lol but seriously, I can't seem to get past 9..ever! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 22, 2012, 08:07:39 pm Looks like my streak is up to 10... Knockin' on wood and keeping the double-downs going! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on April 23, 2012, 12:24:42 pm Err I must have missed something :-[ ,let me try this again...Congrats Stroke!

I saw that this morning....nice job my friend!!!!!! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 24, 2012, 09:00:08 pm Mike Aviles makes it 12... Hanley and Holliday on the DD tomorrow. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 25, 2012, 01:48:11 pm Good luck with the double dip....I have not had a lot of luck with it myself. I usually get 1 of them to get a hit or 2 while the other goes 0'fer.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 25, 2012, 02:45:55 pm Hopefully Josh Hamilton and Buster Posey can get me back on track tonight!!
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 25, 2012, 03:07:40 pm ^^^ I have Buster on a number of fantasy rosters, so I hope he hits the ball every game! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on April 25, 2012, 04:56:36 pm Looks like my streak will come to an end... Holliday is currently 0/4 in the 8th inning, and I don't see him getting another AB. Bummer deal...time to start another streak! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 27, 2012, 02:50:31 am ugh, I can't believe I forgot to pick someone today!!
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 27, 2012, 08:56:00 pm Nice run Stroke.....I have gone 4 straight days with an 0'fer due to the double dip.....I think I may start picking 1 at a time again it seemed to work ok for me last year.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on April 27, 2012, 09:54:08 pm Nice run Stroke.....I have gone 4 straight days with an 0'fer due to the double dip.....I think I may start picking 1 at a time again it seemed to work ok for me last year. same exact thing here. I keep trying to get back to where I was "faster," and my theory is that double dip will help that. Clearly it isn't working!! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on April 28, 2012, 12:09:06 am I can hit the double dip regularly, I feel like I have a good system going. But my problem is remembering to make picks everyday, especially on weekends. I liked how, last year, they had the "if you forget to make a pick we'll put in your backup buy" feature. This year, not so. They want you going to their site every day.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on April 30, 2012, 07:06:41 pm I can hit the double dip regularly, I feel like I have a good system going. This year, not so. They want you going to their site every day. Yeah I liked that feature too and I wish they would devlop an app for Android like the have for the Iphone. I used mine a lot last year but thankfully I was able to part with that horrible device during the off season. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on May 01, 2012, 12:27:52 pm Picked a good night to pick Ryan Braun last night season high streak of 6 (as I'm currently jinxing it)...Too bad I don't have a fantasy team with him....3HR's and triple :o
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on May 01, 2012, 03:22:42 pm I had Braun active on my Baseball Challenge roster last night... 24 points all by himself. He outscored the other 8 hitters I had on my roster combined. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on May 03, 2012, 03:06:26 pm Sorry to see that streak of yours end, Lil_B...I was enjoying running next to ya. My streak treads water today, as my hitter (McCann) didn't play. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on May 03, 2012, 06:40:08 pm Thanks Stroke,Sad I knew Barney wasn't in the line up (ok nothing gained nothing lost),after Braun limped off the field,I went to check to see If I used him the next few days.I noticed it said Barney was 0-1!! ??? I was watching the game, and must have missed his at bat...
Ohh Well Hopefully I'll be right back up there,I'm off to a good start got 2 today... I've felt really good about most of my picks lately, starting to get into a groove.I tend to pick 3-4 days in advance... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on May 03, 2012, 07:10:46 pm I gotta say I'm not really interested in this competition this year. I can't seem to get a streak going because some days I'm too busy to remember to make picks and I just go back to zero. I am thinking I might just let this one float away...
Sucks, it was a good contest, but they kinda ruined it for me. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on May 04, 2012, 02:26:44 pm Going with Derek Jeter and Ian Desmond on the double down...trying to get back to double digits. Brian...you can set your picks way in advance, and you don't need to use the double down feature, so you could play it exactly like you did last year. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on May 04, 2012, 04:47:21 pm Not really - last year I had batting average leader Adrian Gonzalez listed as my "if i forget to make a pick" pick, and when I often would forget to make a pick, it would give me the guy with the 0.368 average.
I've submitted picks for the next week+ and we'll see how it goes. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on May 04, 2012, 06:56:52 pm ^^ That Jump pick was nice, but I like the Double down,so I'm a bit torn...
Ok,Fantasy Gods,I've learned my Lesson...I wont pick two players from the same team again...Thank you for giving Either the single in the 7th,and Mr Kemp a triple in the Top of the 8th....Back to 4... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on May 05, 2012, 10:07:08 am Not really - last year I had batting average leader Adrian Gonzalez listed as my "if i forget to make a pick" pick, and when I often would forget to make a pick, it would give me the guy with the 0.368 average. Totally forgot about that aspect of the game last year...mainly because I never actually used it. What keeps me from forgetting to make a pick is the same thing that helps me make (what I hope will be) the right pick... ESPN's Baseball Challenge game. I have to do that one daily as well, and setting my roster there (which I do right before this game) means that I go through each position and sort all players at that position by how productive they've been (hits/runs/RBI) over the past 15 days. Once I have all the players at one position in production order, I tap a link to show me those players' BVP (batter vs pitcher) history against the starting pitcher they're going to face the next day. I take the best combo of hot hitter/best history I can find, then move to the next position and repeat the process until my roster is full. By the time I finish my BBC roster, I usually have a pretty good idea which player(s) I want for my streak game. Not that those players always work out, but the system at least gives me some solid options to consider. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on May 05, 2012, 02:07:39 pm (I think Brian might have just done this)
Sort of a way around not having a jump pick, just pick one guy,and go out the farthest you can.(looking at today that's up to May 14) Throw him in for as far out,you can always change them when you remember...At least you're fairly covered for a week, in case you forget, you have a weeks worth of picks. They can always then be doubled down,or changed in case you forget,or get busy...unfortunately it's not automatic... :-\ Sorry for being captain obvious, I just enjoy having Brian in the game... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on May 11, 2012, 09:30:50 pm 3 out of the 4 people above me, all took Starlin Castro....The Cubs fan took,Carlos Beltran, and David Wright...
Brian's got a nice little streak going,Congrats... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on May 12, 2012, 04:49:50 pm I was travelling last week, so I did exactly what you said - I picked 7 days in advance and couldn't check it while I was out. I just found out today I was up to 7. And Matt Kemp couldn't get a hit off of Father Time - err - Jamie Moyer.
Matt Kemp is starting to look like a lot of hype. Too bad I picked him again tonight. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: SportsChick on May 12, 2012, 05:02:07 pm Considering Matt Kemp was one strike away from a Golden Sombrero when we saw him..... I picked him tonight too
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow... Modified to add... YAY Fixed! ONE! :D Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on May 20, 2012, 09:50:35 pm Goddamnnit Pedroia!! Why do I keep having faith in him?
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on May 21, 2012, 05:41:49 pm Damn I lost my nine gamer this weekend.....oh well there is still a lot of season left.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on May 21, 2012, 06:37:23 pm We're all struggling to get past 10.
Imagine what it would take to get to 56? Someone is (was?) up to 32 this season. Imagine how incredibly nerve-wracking that would be? Jeez! Do we all suck or is this game actually impossible? Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Sunstroke on May 21, 2012, 09:11:09 pm I've had two streaks of 10+ so far this season, but I've been gacking on the streak chicken bone lately... I can't imagine how stressed out I'd get if I took a streak up into the 30's. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Imagine how incredibly nerve-wracking that would be? Jeez! Do we all suck or is this game actually impossible? It sounds so much easier than it actually is. I don't think this can be done. As AZ said though, a lot of season left Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Thanks! One tip to everyone, I've found the more thought I put into it, the worse I do haha..just pick people and don't look back Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on May 23, 2012, 12:21:55 pm ^^ this is what I started doing. "oh this guy looks good!" and pick. I have double-downs picked for the next 6 days. Bring it!
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: SportsChick on May 23, 2012, 11:39:27 pm I've been doing 5-6 days of picks at a time and then not coming back :D
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on May 29, 2012, 10:50:48 am I would have hit every single one of my pre-set double downs if I didn't make a last second switch on the 25th from Yonder Alonso to Derek Jeter. Would have had 11 in a row before David Wright F'ed me yesterday...
Stick to your gut. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on May 29, 2012, 04:10:37 pm ^^^^
As a rule I try never to change my pick unless there is an injury...I have screwed myself many times doing so. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on June 13, 2012, 11:16:50 pm 9 Yah me...That is all back to our regularly scheduled program ...already in progress
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on June 19, 2012, 01:46:44 pm How about a round of applause for Lil B for his streak of 17 straight games. His streak, along with everyone else's, was snapped by Adrian Beltre yesterday.
What a bum. Jason Marquis has a 6.08 ERA and a WHIP near 2 and Beltre can't muster up 1 single hit. He duped us all. Congrats on the ride, Lil B. Impressive. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on June 19, 2012, 06:29:09 pm I actually feel like my 17 is a little false...June 11 A.J. Ellis got me the odd number,he walked 4 times, and it didn't end my streak...It's like he didn't play...
Thank you,I actually thought Konerko was going to screw me, I was watching Garza pitch well early...Then Konerko homered off him,I thought 19 in the bag... I felt better seeing EVERYONE in our group took Beltre, feeling a confident safe pick... Thank you again...I was pretty close to my prediction too! Ohh Well time to start again, now I want 20...That's my goal by the end of the season... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on July 03, 2012, 06:54:49 pm Looks like you have another great streak going B....I hope you get to your 20. Congrats I have a hard time getting 5 in a row this season it seems.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on July 04, 2012, 10:39:55 pm Thanks Az,Didn't feel good seeing most of our group having Paul Konerko today (5 of us).We lost....Well made my goal of 20,and made feel like my 17 gamer just wasn't flukey luck...Next goal 25...
I'll try to start a new streak tomorrow Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on August 08, 2012, 10:02:54 pm checking out our group, nobody currently has a streak going..so nobody will win the $5.6 million ( I'm pretty sure there's less than 56 games left in the season.)
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on August 09, 2012, 09:42:15 am I gave up. There is no hope.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on August 09, 2012, 10:55:11 am Wait,Wait,Wait...AZ and I both have streaks...1... :D
The rewards thing kicked in where you can get errr lawn seed...discounts on the MLB stuff....You get points for all kinds of things, getting a double down, guy's hitting 2 hits per game,etc...and Damn it Want a streak of 24.... for 5000 points you can get a customization jersey...I'm at 3435...My long streak of zero's probably killed my chances...I'd love to have a customized Cub's jersey... Hijack..I've sucked donkey's va-jay-jay's the last month or so in streak for the cash...No red star for me last month...first in a long time... :'( End hijack... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on August 09, 2012, 11:52:58 am what's this points thing? I haven't seen this. That makes it more interesting....
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on August 09, 2012, 03:08:44 pm It's the MLB rewards, kind of a Beta thing...If you look at the column on the right side...Next to your user name,it should have how many points you have...
I think by the time I get there, all the jersey's will be expired,or the season will be over...I think it's a cool incentive, and wished They started it sooner... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on August 09, 2012, 04:54:11 pm I have 899 points, can I gift them to you?
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on August 09, 2012, 05:06:30 pm It shows I have 0 points.....not that I really care but either I am looking at the wrong thing or that is really screwed up. I should have something based on my participation level.
I can't seem the build a decent streak in this damn game this year. As far as ESPN beat the streak goes it seems everytime I get a good 5 or 6 gamer going doesn't matter what I pick I lose then follow that up with a 5 or 6 game losing streak. I hit 5 or 6 wins 4 times in July. Really frustrating. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on August 10, 2012, 03:11:30 pm No,Brian...But thank you... :)
AZ you have zero...You get 100 just for signing up to play! Up by your profile name should be some. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on August 10, 2012, 03:56:04 pm No,Brian...But thank you... :) AZ you have zero...You get 100 just for signing up to play! Up by your profile name should be some. I will have to look again but the only points thing I see says 0 lol!!!!!! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on August 10, 2012, 05:20:08 pm ^^^ Click on the MLB rewards "get started" on the right side in the browser window, maybe that will show your points...I'm at a loss AZ......Ohh wait are you using a mobile app?
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on August 10, 2012, 06:36:16 pm ^^^^
I click on the get started button and nothing happens lol....this damn thing doesn't want me to have point!!!!! I will mess with it more when I get home. Thanks for the help B!!!!! Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: tubba marxxx on September 27, 2012, 09:24:02 pm http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/fantasy/btsday/splash.jsp?partnerId=ed-6452876-55428157
the longest of shots, but hey, it could happen right? Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on September 27, 2012, 10:14:21 pm Are there really 57 hits on a given night? I guess so, if there's 15 games, each team would have to get 4 hits. And you'd have to predict every one of them.
Damn. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on September 28, 2012, 02:56:50 pm I am participating in this hoping for a miracle lol!!!!!
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on September 28, 2012, 04:44:08 pm I picked my 57 guys.
What's the worst that could happen? I at least used some strategy when picking my guys, it wasn't just arbitrary. It'll be interesting to see who can get the most right out of the 57. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on September 28, 2012, 07:07:15 pm ^^^^The only real problem I see with this is that this time of year some of those 57 may not start if the teams are not in playoff contention or have their spots locked up. By like you said what's the worst that can happen....I don't have 5.6 million now so no loss.
Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on September 28, 2012, 11:03:14 pm Well, I picked my guys based on hot streaks and tendency to play every day. Guys like Carlos Ruiz, who I thought might not play today, I stayed away from.
So far I know there are 2 guys that I deviated from my strategy and picked as fill in guys. Jose Reyes and matt Kemp. Reyes was 0-4 tonight. So I'm out... Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: Brian Fein on October 01, 2012, 10:15:16 am "No one was able to correctly pick 57 batters to all get hits. The top score was 43."
This shows how impossible this is. I'm sure Homer Bailey's no-no didn't help. I got 32 right. Title: Re: MLB Beat the streak 2012? Post by: bsfins on October 03, 2012, 07:04:50 pm Well, I can't even end on a high note...as Castro failed to get a hit...
Thanks to everyone who played, this frustrating as all hell game this year! |
