Title: D Wade - My Perception vs Analysts
Post by: Dave Gray on June 18, 2012, 12:41:44 pm
I love D Wade.  ...always have.

However, I've found him incredibly frustrating during this entire playoff run, perhaps never so much as last night (game 3 vs. OKC).  Wade is producing numbers.  So, it's hard to look at the stat line at the end of the game and criticize his play.  On top of that, the analysts after the game said that this was Wade's "most complete game".

Even though Wade does some really great things, he's been what I've called reckless.  He seems to take ill-advised jumpers that put him out of position on transition the other direction.  And Wade has been going to the hoop, but falling over and complaining for a call -- in doing so, he misses the run in the other direction.  But even if he gets back, it creates matchup problems and almost always results in 2 points the other way.

He did a good job distributing last game, but I also noticed that he was forcing some balls in to a double-covered Bosh.

Thoughts?

I have been stunned at the complete pass Wade has been given during these playoffs.  He has put up consistently atrocious first-half numbers (particularly vs. BOS) and the storyline was still, "Will LeBron rise to the occasion?"

Isn't this Wade's team?  Wasn't LeBron crucified as the shriveling coward that ran to another man's team?  So why isn't everyone bashing Wade for not carrying his club?

^^^ Wade wasn't the one who went on TV and said, Miami was going win multiple championships, "not one, not two not three, etc"

Chan Gailey and Rex Ryan have won the exact same number of SBs as head coaches.  But Ryan gets more heat over it because he run his mouth a lot more.

I like Wade, but he seemed to miss some crucial shots in the Boston Games.  I actually think the Heat would be better either without Wade or without Bosh, as James seems to play better.

QFT

And I absolutely agree with Dave, Wade's been extremely frustrating to watch. ...and the free throws, my God!

Hmmm, so that's why Wade gets a pass on his play in these playoffs/Finals. Interesting theory.

LeBron was being bashed as a choker and a failure well before that statement.

It's silly to use that one sentence as a blanket excuse for Wade for the rest of his career.

It is not a theory on why Wade gets a pass on his play.  It is a theory on why Lebron gets more scrutinized than most players in a lost.

So leave everything To bron right,  so Miami with out Wade hmm thats Losing 20+ pts .....  You do realize the Bron n Wade Factor out ther on the court.  Do you pay attention  to how Wade n Bron and how the co-exist  on the floor. Obviously not .. you just watch the games and come up with your ridiculous opinion

I'm not going to say anything crazy like "we're better without Wade playing".  But the HEAT aren't about having good players.  They have 3 guys in the top 15 -- we know they have the good players.  What they need is for those 3 guys to play to their level.  Wade is considered (or at least WAS considered) a top 5 player in the NBA.  He's not playing at that level in these playoffs.  Because the HEAT have invested so much in him, they expected as much, and we don't have the talent to come in and pick up the slack.

I think that in the Finals, Battier really deserves a lot of credit.  He's opened up the lanes by finally hitting outside shots consistently.

We know that Wade is capable of going off -- as is Bosh.  Bosh does a lot of things outside of scoring that can really help us.  I do want to see that one big game from Wade though, before this is all over.

As for Lebron -- enough is enough with the hate -- he's the best player in the league and he's playing like it.

Agreed,  I really believe that everybody expects the Big 3 to put up GODLY number every night,  In the playoffs,(HELL in the reg season)  ROLE players have to step up and make it easier for the others to create..

Shane Battier-  Continues to be a pest to the other teams his offense is up and down at time like Mike Miller.
Norris Cole - In the first half of season, this kid was givin Chalmers a scare of taking over as Starting PG but he fell of
Udonis Haslem - continues to put up considerable amount of defense and offense any giving night
Mike Miller  -  He's very streaky, some games he will look like  Mike of old dayz and then fall off
James Jones -  I dont know why Coach Spo is not using him as much it kills me that you 3pt threat is always on the bench

Where are the Big's , The centers

Joel Anthony-  even though he is not a scorer but he is a tough shot blocker and rebounder
Ronny Turiaf- i dont understand his role if he rides the pine all the time
Dexter Pittman- bust   ::) ::)

Miami  bench is always getting out scored by opposing teams.  If the starting 5 not playing well, better PRAY that the bench can fill the void.

James Jones doesn't do enough things to find the floor.

Yes, he hits shots, but he can't put the ball on the floor, pass effectively, rebound particularly well, or defend on the ball.  He is a good outside shooter and he has a knack for drawing a charge on a drive.  If you look at a guy like Battier, he does go cold with his shots, but he brings a lot more to you, in terms of iso defense, cutting off passing lanes, and crashing the basket.

Jones is good for a couple of minutes a game to rattle off some buckets, but he's a liability if he's not draining everything.
