And while Howard will help the Lakers, should they land him, he won't be a game-changing player. It's not that Howard isn't the best big-man in the league -- he is. But Bynum is probably #2 or #3, so you're improving, yes, but not at one of your weak points.
I think that Nash will make Kobe's job easier, in terms of scoring, but it's going to be hard for him, come playoff time, when he's having to cover a guy like Westbrook. I don't think that Nash is defensively relevant enough to take the Lakers all the way. Why is everyone so sure? Injuries can hit anyone, anytime. The Heat or Thunder are not a lock to win it. There are no guarantees. But the chances of LA getting by OKC or SA are not very good. Even with Nash. |
