Title: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 14, 2012, 10:52:51 am Just so I don't totally derail the "Best Team in NFL" thread talking friendly smack to TDMMC's local Patriots fans, I thought I'd just create a separate thread. I am definitely looking forward to this game as much as any regular season game in recent memory, and hope it lives up to the hype and turns out to be one of those "game for the ages" kind of show.
On a minor statistical note... The 49ers and Patriots have both faced all 3 of the other teams in their opponent's division this season. New England vs. NFC West: 1-2, combined score: 86-51 San Francisco vs. AFC East: 3-0, combined score: 106-16 ;D ;D GO NINERS!! ;D ;D Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on December 14, 2012, 11:45:08 am Dolphins, Jets and Bills suck. This is not news.
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 14, 2012, 01:09:21 pm ^^^ Of course... I'm certain the 49ers expect the Patriots to be much tougher than the AFC East opponents they've already faced. I'm also certain that the Patriots expect the 49ers to be much tougher than the NFC West opponents they've already faced. New England must fall... Death to the Hooded Devil! >:D (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-2NxXy6kwtIQ/T2-p27VmjnI/AAAAAAAAAV4/ATJT8y6hPPA/s1600/Bill%2BBelichick.jpg) (http://bp0.blogger.com/_mTIR6JMpzsI/R_mtGh3zAFI/AAAAAAAABWo/XKljWZdmdxI/s320/emperor.jpg) Coincidence? I think not... Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: MikeO on December 15, 2012, 12:45:12 pm Game is in NE....Pats should win easily. SF can't keep up if the Pats start scoring points
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 15, 2012, 01:28:54 pm If the 49ers are unable to put pressure on Brady, I would expect the Patriots to win this match-up. Problem is...I fully expect the 49ers to blow up the Patriots O-line and hit Brady...early, often and brutally. Four sacks, minimum, and Brady coughs it up on at least one of those. On offense, the best O-line in the league will enforce its will on the Patsies' front seven, en route to 200+ rushing yards. After the game, Belichick complains about OG Mike Iupati, saying it isn't fair to put a uniform on an industrial steamroller. Final score... 49ers: 26 Patriots: 20 Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Pats2006 on December 15, 2012, 02:13:15 pm Pats 34
49ers 20 Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: MikeO on December 16, 2012, 11:29:38 am I really think SF is overrated this year. I don't like their offense at all
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Pats2006 on December 16, 2012, 01:04:04 pm I really think SF is overrated this year. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 08:05:58 pm LET'S GO NINERS!! Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Pats2006 on December 16, 2012, 08:25:57 pm Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Landshark on December 16, 2012, 08:35:58 pm And the Pats fumble but they overturn it. You talk about how the Dolphins cheerleaders may have been sleeping with the refs. I have to wonder what the Pats cheerleaders did.

Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Cathal on December 16, 2012, 09:20:37 pm The niners defense is only going to hold for so long. Too many lost opportunities right now.
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Pats2006 on December 16, 2012, 09:21:26 pm Could we please get the non teflon coated footballs out there please? I know this is crazy.. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Cathal on December 16, 2012, 09:50:07 pm I have no idea either. Hah. I don't know why someone would tell Bellicheck to challenge after all of this time.
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 09:50:55 pm Bullet: Dodged Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Pats2006 on December 16, 2012, 09:54:47 pm I dont ever recall a call ever taking that long. Should be havetime already
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 09:57:04 pm Not yet...SF has one more score to get before the half. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Cathal on December 16, 2012, 10:10:13 pm Did Moss ever get a PI called against him as a Patriot? I know he always should have but I don't remember it happening. :)
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 10:17:16 pm He's gotten away with it one or two times in his career, I'm sure... ;) Extremely happy with the first half. It was sloppy as hell for both sides in the "hang on to the damned ball" department, but I think the 49ers are playing as well as I expected, on both sides of the ball. Lots of clock left to go though, and Brady has one or two comebacks on his resumé. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 10:19:06 pm Announcer is talking about how the Seahawks have scored 50+ points in two straight games... I'll bet a dollar that they don't stretch it to 3 games next week against the 49ers? ;D Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 10:29:11 pm I love Frank Gore... Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Cathal on December 16, 2012, 10:32:21 pm Man, what was Colin thinking? Either one of this DBs could have picked that off.
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 10:38:20 pm Yeah, that was a poor decision. Fortunately, he doesn't brainfart like that very often. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 10:39:08 pm !! TOUCHDOWN, 49ERS!! Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 10:44:45 pm And again... !! TOUCHDOWN, 49ERS!! Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 11:24:38 pm Here come the Patriots...crap. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Landshark on December 16, 2012, 11:31:24 pm The Niners are going to lose this game. I have never seen such a rapid meltdown like this one.
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: TonyB0D on December 16, 2012, 11:38:20 pm yeah, the ptas are unstoppable at home in the 4th when trailing. esp against an inexperienced QB who can't handle a basic snap.
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 11:40:55 pm 31-31... Gotta appreciate the 49ers letting New England back in the game, just to entertain the national TV audience... Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 11:43:28 pm !! TOUCHDOWN, 49ERS!! Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 16, 2012, 11:49:36 pm Ted Ginn is making me really fucking nervous... Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 17, 2012, 12:09:30 am ^^^ LOL Here comes the onside kick...Belichick looking for another miracle comeback. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: mecadonzilla on December 17, 2012, 12:11:33 am Well, this is wonderful. It's made only better by the fact that NE came back and still managed to piss the game away.
What a wonderful weekend of football! Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 17, 2012, 12:12:13 am Great game...and a nice win for the 49ers. Nothing but respect for the Patriots...I still fully expect to see them again, Football Gods willing, in the Super Bowl in February. Preferably with the same outcome. ;D Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: raptorsfan29 on December 17, 2012, 12:13:40 am would have been nice to see the golden boy have his td streak snapped.
Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: mecadonzilla on December 17, 2012, 12:14:30 am would have been nice to see the golden boy have his td streak snapped. That's about the only thing that would make me feel better about tonight. Oh, well. Can't win 'em all. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Landshark on December 17, 2012, 08:11:39 am Great game...and a nice win for the 49ers. Nothing but respect for the Patriots...I still fully expect to see them again, Football Gods willing, in the Super Bowl in February. Preferably with the same outcome. ;D This game reminded me of the Niners-Saints game in last year's playoffs. The Niners built up a big lead and were dominating defensively. Then the Pats come back and make it a game, only to have the Niners find a way to put themselves over the top at the end. The fact that the Niners went into Gillette Stadium and were able to beat the Pats in the freezing rain speaks volumes. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Cathal on December 17, 2012, 08:13:24 am Great game...and a nice win for the 49ers. Nothing but respect for the Patriots...I still fully expect to see them again, Football Gods willing, in the Super Bowl in February. Preferably with the same outcome. ;D If I were you, I'd rather not see the Pats in the Superbowl. ;) Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 17, 2012, 10:40:15 am If I were you, I'd rather not see the Pats in the Superbowl. ;) If the 49ers get to the Super Bowl, I will be happy with "whoever" is there with us... Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on December 17, 2012, 12:18:03 pm If the 49ers get to the Super Bowl, I will be happy with "whoever" is there with us... I always take that attitude. Good game Sunstroke. While I am not thrilled with the outcome, it was an increadable game. When it was 31-3 and the Pats got the ball back I said, "if they don't score on this drive I am going to bed, then they scored" Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: Sunstroke on December 17, 2012, 01:12:04 pm On the side, two of my most important fantasy playoff match-ups were hinging on this game. In both cases, my opponent had Ridley, and in both cases, I had Hernandez (who I've painfully held on my benches all year). I ended up squeaking wins in both, so I appreciated Hernandez' role in the comeback attempt. I still think New England is the AFC's best team, a notch ahead of Denver, and count the 49ers as fortunate to catch some lucky bounces (7 of them, actually) and hold on for the W. Seattle on the road next week is going to be tough as well, so hopefully the Niners can keep up the pace and get ready for the playoffs. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on December 17, 2012, 01:18:43 pm I still think New England is the AFC's best team, a notch ahead of Denver, I think NE vs. Denver is too close to call. This week power rankings should be #1 SF, with 2&3 being NE and Denver, but a coin flip for who is 2 and who is 3. Title: Re: Patriots-49ers Game Post by: BigDaddyFin on December 17, 2012, 03:20:23 pm The only bad thing about this game I couldn't stay awake for most of it (Flu). What I did see was exciting as hell. I went to sleep when it was 24-3 SF, woke up after NE made it 31-10, then when I woke up again it was tied. I saw the last two minutes or so.
