Just about this time last year I watched AP's leg go all rubber-band-wet-noodle. He has 212 yards today, meaning he needs 94 yards per game for the next two weeks to break 2000 off one of the nastier ACL tears I've ever seen. That's just not right. Much respect and very happy for him! -EK

If he cracks 2,000, I don't see how Manning beats him. Actually, if he cracks 2,000, he should be in consideration for the MVP as well. I think Brady should win it, but AP should be in the discussion. -EK

Brady as Comeback Player of the Year??  I can see Brady in the MVP discussion, but as for Comeback Player of the Year, I say it's a dead heat between Manning and Peterson.  Brady has nothing to come back from.

LOL, no no no. When I said Brady should win "it" I meant the MVP, not the Comeback. -EK

All three players (Brady, Manning, and Peterson) have a good case for it.

I think NE's overall record will help Brady- especially after the way they handled Houston. Plus, 29 TDs against only 4 INTs is beyond just a little impressive. -EK

An ACL tear for a QB is not so bad, especially if you are a pocket passer like Brady. An ACL tear for a RB is huge. Also possible nerve damage to your throwing arm is huge for a QB.
So Brady should be a distant third behind Manning and Peterson.

I just don't see it. Brady is having a better year on a better team. To me that's MVP. I think AP is a shoe in for CPOTY. -EK

Based on the way writers like to keep things "fair," I'd say Manning wins MVP, Brady wins Offensive Player of the Year, Peterson wins Comeback Player of the Year.

I'm catching a whiff of "Co-MVP's" this season...

I would say Peterson shouldn't win Comeback Player of the Year because he hardly missed anytime last season.  How can you be a comeback player if you only miss a week or two?

He should definitely be in the running for MVP, because outside of him, there's nothing to fear in Minnesota.  I could see him splitting MVP honors with Peyton and/or Brady easily, though.

MJD was the only thing to fear in Jacksonville last year... should he have won the MVP?

MIN is not a very good team.  The MVP is usually reserved for the best player on a good team.

Editing my stance a bit- I didn't realize how close AP was to breaking the all time rushing record. If he pull that off, I think he has as good a chance as either of the other two. If he averages 147 yards against Houston and Green Bay to finish the year, that's impressive enough in itself. -EK

Did he even come close to or break an NFL rushing record, no. That should also come into consideration.
