Well, I'm one of those who have a use for basketball (even if the Magic should be demoted to the developmental league). And happen to be a proud Braves fan. GO BRAVES! I'm very excited about this season. Especially with all the "experts" predicting a Nationals-Tigers World Series.
Can't wait to see their reaction to a Braves-A's series. You heard it here first.

Your opening day starter, Samardzija, is one of three SPs I have on all 4 of my fantasy teams this season. The other two are Yu Darvish and Max Scherzer. I'm hoping to rake in the K's with that trio...

Clayton Kershaw laid the beatdown on the defending champs today with not only his pitching but he hit a solo shot to center field in the Dodgers 4-0 victory today. Clayton looked fantastic today.

1-0! WooHoo! Is it too early to plan the parade?

Make that, 2-0. Interesting side note. Including tonight's start. Halladay, is now 0-4 in his last 7 starts against Atlanta with an ERA of 8.00.

WOW!!!! The Braves are winning with offense. This isn't the Braves I know and love but I like it!!!

2 games, not a single run scored for the Marlins.  Not even 1 run.

Way to go, Jeffrey Loria, you have turned your team into a laughing stock yet again.

Been a fan of the Marlins since day one.  I don't mind rooting for a terrible team because I try to stick with my teams through thick and thin.  But Loria makes it really hard to continue to be a fan of this team. 

^^ I am the same way.  I still want the Marlins to do well, but when the owner just wants to line his pockets, I have a hard time supporting him.  So, I follow from afar.  A-very-far.  I won't be going to another game in Marlins Park until he sells the team or is otherwise removed from ownership.  I'm more likely to go see the Marlins play on the road at this point.

I've lost so much interest, I couldn't even tell you who their starting players are.  I know there's Stanton, Ruggiano, and they got Polanco (joke) and JP.  Other than that... I'd be guessing.

Its not because they're terrible.  I've been a fan in seasons when they lost 100 games.  Its because I've been betrayed too many times.

With the Cubs and the Mets on your schedule, I don't think that should've been a concern.

^^^ Both the Cubs and Mets are significantly better than the team the Padres are fielding this season. Only the Astros can limbo under our ineptitude...

^^ With the MARLINS on the schedule, you're guaranteed at least a few Padres' wins.

I, for one can appreciate that. I love the strikeout also. Which is why I wish Lincecum would get his mojo back. When he is on, dude is an absolute beast.

At the same time, its never too late to jump on The Braves Bandwagon.

Then you should follow the Braves this year as I think we have a great opportunity in leading the league in striking out!

^^^ BJ Upton's down side is definitely the whiff action...but I still love every ballplayer that's ever popped out of Mrs Upton's 5-tool womb.

My Padres may end up with one of the bottom-3 records in the league this season, but any time they beat The Evil Blue (Dodgers), it puts a smile on my face. Kind of like the one I'm sporting right now. ;D

Can we call it a season now? I haven't been this happy to be a Braves fan in years!!!

If you're someone, like me, who has twice streamed Carlos Villanueva, you might be thinking that the Cubs don't need Marmol to blow games, as Fujikawa seems more than capable of doing that himself.  Villanueva has given me 14 super strong innings, allowing only 1 run in both games, only to have the Cubs pen gack it in the 8th and 9th innings. Sure, they came back and won it in the bottom of the 9th, but that doesn't do jack for Villanueva's stat-line.   :'(

Tonight is why you never say die. What a comeback for the Braves.

Yeah,I think closing out games,and holding leads is going to be a problem all year.Kyuji Fujikawa has had a couple of rough innings,(gave up 3 runs in Atlanta,blown save today)but Marmol has had few rough years.Marmol on a good day walks a guy,gives up a single,then plunks a guy,then strikes out the side for the save.I'm willing to keep running out almost anyone but Marmol to close a game at this point.

It seems like Carlos Quentin was trying to hit Zack Greinke.  And why not?  Everyone else in the league has.

Fujikawa to the DL, Closer by committee situation...Sveum says no marmol in that committee Woohoo... Adjust your fantasy lineup.... :D

Gotta give it to the Padres......they kicked LA's ass all over the field. I hope this trend changes or I'm looking at yet another season that will be over at the All Star break with the 2nd highest payroll in the league.

Scratching my head over the Padres' winning run lately. They've won 10 of their last 13 games, using decent pitching, timely hitting and amazing base running (successful on 19 of 20 stolen base attempts during this stretch). We're almost up to the .500 mark now, but I'm still pretty sure that the Padres aren't really as good as they've been playing. I definitely will enjoy it while it lasts though...

I'm wondering if the Dodgers end up in the cellar which is the direction this ridiculous payroll is headed, do they hold a firesale like the Marlins?

Like I had mentioned to you previously ... strikeouts. Live by the sword and you die by the sword. I can't think of a streakier team than Atlanta. We really aren't much in the way of the Bobby Cox Braves of playing fundamental baseball and that makes us our own worst enemy. Congrats to the Padres on a great series for them!

It was fluky, especially with one of our steadier hitters (Gyorko) out of the lineup. Just another series though...one of the few that the Padres are likely to sweep this season. On a personal fantasy note...it is nice to see Jason Heyward finally start hitting again.

Strikeouts. Way too many. Still in 1st, although logic defies it.
