Title: Theft
Post by: Dave Gray on April 30, 2013, 06:08:02 pm
Occasionally, I get something stolen and I come on here to vent and profess my hatred towards thieves.  And now is that time again.  My wife took her iPhone 5 to work, showed some kids a picture of our baby....BOOM -- Gone.

She called from our house one once she got home, told me, and I immediately looked to see if the phone was online.  It was not.  I proceeded to lock it and put a password on it.

Then, by the time we called the phone company a few minutes ago, that phone had already called some other numbers (implying that it'd already been jailbroken.)

I want this person to be killed.  And I don't mean that facetiously.  If I could snap my fingers and have his head explode, I would do it.

Yea there is no excuse for thievery but I have to question why your wife is exposing herself and her private life in such a manner. I never saw pictures of my teachers kids. Granted I went to school before the cell phone craze, but something like an iPhone 5 should have been protected in that environment.

Please don't hit me with some kind of response like does a scantily dressed girl deserve rape. These things are worlds apart. I'm not saying she deserved this at all, I just think a different line of thinking should have prevailed.

Wanted to ass that I feel sorry for the experiance.

Death penalty for petty larceny.  Wow, even Texas isn't that bad.

I do not like dishonest people in general and a thief is at the top of the dishonest.  My psychologist says that why I don't like clowns.  Can't trust their expressions!!!  :D

I don't understand what happened.  They took it away from her?  Or did she leave it somewhere?

I take my phone to work every day and so does everyone else I know.

She was showing students a picture of our cat on a stack of papers she was trying to grade the night before.  Then she must've left the phone on the desk or something like that.  I leave my phone here and there at work all the time.  If she slips up, her stuff is stolen.

The entire class gets detention until she gets her phone back.  Sucks for the innocent ones, but I bet it turns up magically.

It might not even be her class.  She could've just laid it down somewhere.  But whoever got it erased it quickly.  And it's long gone now.

My teachers had pictures of their family on their desks.

Hopefully they didn't turn off the photo stream.  Remember what happened to that Disney cruse ship employee that stole a guest's iPhone?  Maybe the same thing can happen for your wife.

One benefit of carrying around a cheap phone like I do is you don't have to worry about that stuff.  I try to make it a rule to never carry around anything of significant value to me.
