Title: Celebrity baby names Post by: CF DolFan on June 24, 2013, 08:08:26 am Obviously "North" West has been the topic of Hollywood chatter for the last few days but I'm curious as to why everyone seems so upset about it? It's not the worst baby name by far. Is it because of the singer with the god-like complex or the mother who is famous for her train-wrecks?

It's cute and really not that outrageous. People just hate Kanye and Kim.
Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: Dave Gray on June 24, 2013, 10:23:17 am I don't think most of that stuff is too awful. Some of them I actually think are cool.
On it's own, I think the name "North" is actually pretty OK. Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: Phishfan on June 24, 2013, 10:47:25 am I am all for unconventional names but North us dumb as hell.
Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: Dave Gray on June 24, 2013, 10:54:51 am I would totally name a baby North if I had someone with the last name North worthy of a namesake.
Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: Sunstroke on June 24, 2013, 01:38:55 pm There are a few on there that make me want to slap the parent for being a USDA choice douche-nozzle, like "Moxie Crimefighter" and "Pilot Inspektor" (what, they couldn't even spell "Inspector" right?), but most of them aren't too terribly ridiculous. Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: Dave Gray on June 24, 2013, 01:51:18 pm Most of them are bad because they are in conjunction with another name. "Moxie" on its own isn't bad. ...but Crimefighter is rough.
Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: Sunstroke on June 24, 2013, 01:54:32 pm Agreed...if they'd stopped at "Moxie" or "Pilot," I'd think "wow, what a cool and creative name!" Add "Crimefighter" and "Inspektor," and that thought becomes "I wonder how much therapy the poor child will end up needing." Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: CF DolFan on June 24, 2013, 03:40:30 pm "Kal-El" ... Is this putting pressure on a kid or what?
Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: Sunstroke on June 24, 2013, 04:05:36 pm ^^^ Yeah, but since he can just shorten it to "Kal," I really didn't see that as a big problem. ;) Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: CF DolFan on June 24, 2013, 04:16:24 pm ^^^ Yeah, but since he can just shorten it to "Kal," I really didn't see that as a big problem. ;) So does that make him only having to live up to being half of Superman? :DTitle: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: Thundergod on June 24, 2013, 05:37:25 pm (http://www.moonbattery.com/archives/unique.jpg#unique)
Seriously though, every time I hear about these celebrities who've named their child something retarded I shake my head thinking, "poor kid". That also goes for the idiots who change names by inserting different letters or changing the sequence, but having the name pronounced the same. (http://www.mobilechilli.com/images/bc/nz/products/G/140510.gif) ooohhhhhhh... Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: bsfins on June 24, 2013, 07:35:24 pm I have contradicting feelings here...I don't really give a damn what a celebrity names their kid...I do feel bad for the kid, when some random non-celebrity,person does it....
I'm someone who decided, after a story from my mom to go by my initials...(and heard every Blow Job Joke since I did it.The worst part is most people think like they are the first to do it) (Another contradiction) So,while their birth certificate ,paychecks, etc, may have to have some crazy names, their friends can call them Chris,Dave,Shane,Becky Mary,Doc,Roxie,Trixie or whatever...Sometimes they'll go by their middle name... I also sort feel for those kids that are named for some grandparent or someone that has an old name you don't hear very much..Gertrude,Imogene,Edmund,Mortimer,Humphrey. Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: Pappy13 on June 25, 2013, 08:50:20 am They need to name their son Adam. That way whenever he walks into a room he can put his hands on his hips and say "I'm Batman!".

That way whenever he walks into a room he can put his hands on his hips and say "I'm Batman!". They would also have to play the old soundtrack music..." Da na na na na na na BATMAN" Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: Dolphster on June 25, 2013, 01:19:08 pm I don't care about celebrities at all. I care even less about what they name their children. ;D
Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on June 25, 2013, 01:27:53 pm Natalie Portman - Aleph This one doesn't really belong because nobody would consider it odd in Natalie's home country. Title: Re: Celebrity baby names Post by: CF DolFan on June 25, 2013, 03:03:00 pm This one doesn't really belong because nobody would consider it odd in Natalie's home country. I got these off of other lists but I did not realize that was Jewish. I would have to agree with you. |
