Title: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: el diablo on September 09, 2013, 10:21:17 am Reggie Bush showed the world that not only does he have a lot left in the tank. He also showed what happens when you're able to put him in open spaces. Good job, Reggie! 21 att, 90 yds. 4 rec, 109 yds 1 TD.
Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: Fau Teixeira on September 09, 2013, 10:22:24 am he had another TD overturned on review (he was down at the 1) and then detroit handed the ball to someone else for a 1 yard td
Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: CF DolFan on September 09, 2013, 10:24:48 am the knock on him is will he sustain that production? He is small, gets hurt and is easily worn down. I don't think anyone has ever questioned his ability to have big play potential.

He was also injured yesterday and showed why you don't give OLD running backs big bucks. Plus he also showed he is still the consistently injury prone player he has been his whole career! Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: el diablo on September 09, 2013, 12:00:27 pm An "old" running back that put up almost 200 yds of offense.
Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: MikeO on September 09, 2013, 12:27:40 pm An "old" running back that put up almost 200 yds of offense. who can't stay healthy. Always injured in N.O. Injured last year in Miami and played dinged up all year. Plays 1 game in Detroit and has 2 injuries. Bush had a great early season last year too...then he got hurt vs the Jets and sucked the rest of the season Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: miamid45 on September 09, 2013, 12:38:57 pm Injured his thumb (dislocated) and pulled his groin. Not a good sign for a 16 game season.

Not if he is standing on the sideline in street clothes! Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: Phishfan on September 10, 2013, 02:05:56 pm At the pace they played so far Reggie will indeed have outplayed them even if he doesn't suit up the rest of the year. It would take them that long to catch him.
Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: Sunstroke on September 10, 2013, 05:26:33 pm The thing is, he sustained the injuries early, but played through them to the tune of 190-something total yards. I understand the warning signs of an older player getting injured, but if he doesn't miss any time because of these new injuries, and is still productive on the field, does it really matter if he's nicked up? At the pace they played so far Reggie will indeed have outplayed them even if he doesn't suit up the rest of the year. It would take them that long to catch him. Depressing, but true... I'd trade Lamar Miller, Daniel Thomas and a briefcase stuffed full of unmarked bills to have Reggie Bush back here in Miami. Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: EKnight on September 10, 2013, 06:46:02 pm Bush before the "season-derailing injury game" against the Jets- 4.4 ypc. Bush after- 4.3 ypc. Yep, massive difference.
Aside from the SINGLE season he was hurt in New Orleans, he's averaging 13.8 games per year played. For a running back, 14 games a year is about right. Marshawn Lynch, Arian Foster, and AP average in the neighborhood of 15, so I'm not sold on Bush being "injury prone." Sounds like sour grapes to me. -EK Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: MikeO on September 10, 2013, 06:58:54 pm Bush before the "season-derailing injury game" against the Jets- 4.4 ypc. For a back-up RB (ie Bush in N.O.) to play in only 8, 10, 12, and 14 games is injury prone. Less work-load and more missed games with injuries than starters who had more carries. Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: EKnight on September 10, 2013, 07:11:35 pm Fine then- how many games did he miss as a starter in Mimai? And since you brought up the Jets game and his injury, look at the numbers- same player before and after, no matter how badly you wanted Miller to be carrying the ball. -EK

And since you brought up the Jets game and his injury, look at the numbers- same player before and after, no matter how badly you wanted Miller to be carrying the ball. -EK After the Jets game last year he went over 100 yards only once, and only over 80 yards once. Rest of his games he was an ordinary RB getting between 20-60 yards per game! Look it up. He was terrible Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: EKnight on September 10, 2013, 07:53:30 pm And BEFORE the Jets game he only had one 100 yard game and nothing else over 70. He was the SAME player. "Look it up." That was my whole point- despite your personal bias toward him, he was basically the same player after the Jets game as before. His ypc were nearly identical. -EK

Hardly a sample size to go by. Whatever. He had 4 games of 26 yards or less last year....fact!r Live in the bubble and believe what you want. He's gone and isn't coming back so it doesn't matter Title: Re: Reggie's Detriot Debut Post by: MikeO on September 15, 2013, 07:30:00 pm Reggie was HURT again today. Took a helmet to the knee before halftime. Came back into the game for a couple plays, fumbled, came up limp again and then was pulled from the game and didn't return.
3 injuries last week. Injured today again. Enjoy Detroit! |
