Title: 2014 Godzilla Movie Post by: DenverFinFan on September 30, 2013, 10:50:14 pm Is anyone out there as excited as I am for this movie? It starts Bryan Cranston and is going to have an original Japanese monster design, plus monster on monster violence, I can't wait! All early buzz is positive, just curious if anyone else cares. Cranston said it will erase the 1998 Godzilla travesty from our memories.

While I'll stop well short of calling the '98 version a great movie, I thought it was decent enough to not get the "travesty" label. Title: Re: 2014 Godzilla Movie Post by: CF DolFan on October 01, 2013, 10:26:50 am Cranston is blowing up! I've never seen Breaking Bad so it's really funny to me to see everyone so excited about Woodrow Snider and Malcolm's dad. Title: Re: 2014 Godzilla Movie Post by: MaineDolFan on October 03, 2013, 12:17:35 pm I'd watch a Godzilla movie starring Miley Cyrus and the cast of Twilight.
...actually, that sounds kind of cool. Don't forget Dr. Tim Whatley, DDS. -EK Title: Re: 2014 Godzilla Movie Post by: Phishfan on October 03, 2013, 05:00:55 pm I have such a little interest in Godzille, I did not even know there was a 1998 movie.
Title: Re: 2014 Godzilla Movie Post by: Sunstroke on October 03, 2013, 06:29:03 pm I watched Pacific Rim last night...Godzilla is a pussy. Title: Re: 2014 Godzilla Movie Post by: Thundergod on October 04, 2013, 01:48:25 am ^^^
Absolutely. While I'll stop well short of calling the '98 version a great movie, I thought it was decent enough to not get the "travesty" label. Agreed. I think those who loathed the remake were/are huge fans of the cheesy-ass Japanese Godzilla flicks. Yeah, I'll take the huge lizard over the dude in the rubber suit. Title: Re: 2014 Godzilla Movie Post by: Sunstroke on October 04, 2013, 02:00:13 am ^^^ That, and I've been a Matthew Broderick fan since WarGames and LadyHawke. ;D BTW, T-God... T-minus 4 days until we get a fresh hit off that Supernatural crack pipe (like you really need a reminder?). I already told my roommate that if he's watching TV that night, it will be the one in his bedroom, because the 55" HDTV in the living room is going to have grounded angels on it. Title: Re: 2014 Godzilla Movie Post by: Thundergod on October 04, 2013, 11:13:29 am ^^ I wouldn't expect anything else from you, sir. I have my surround sound headsets ready, snacks and drink for the night, and bells ready to be worn. It's on!
Title: Re: 2014 Godzilla Movie Post by: Dave Gray on October 04, 2013, 01:27:24 pm I actually didn't hate the 1998 movie like everyone else. Sure, it was crappy like any other summer blockbuster, but no worse. I don't hold Godzilla up as great film-making anyway. Those movies are always corny.
