If you have to keep Philbin, then at least dump Sherman. I would prefer Ireland be fired, but he can be defended a bit this season. Problem is, he should've been fired years ago. I just want a new OC and 4 new guys on the O-Line. That is the smallest I can live with. If they keep every coach and office personnel, why even bother watching next season? I don't think he will clean house, but I can see him bringing in a Jose McDaniels as OC with the message that if this team starts off 3-4, Philbin is gone and he is the new head coach.
I just want to clean house without the rebuild year. We don't need to rebuild. We need to live up to our talent level. I don't trust him to evaluate talent or get players to believe in him. He isn't head coaching material. I wouldn't want him as anything but OC. I would take Lovie Smith as head coach in a heartbeat. I'll go on the record and say I do not want Philbin fired at all, but if it did happen, Jay Gruden would be at the top of my list, followed by Lovie Smith. |
