Title: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: EDGECRUSHER on March 10, 2014, 09:05:17 pm Can't hurt to see what Tampa is looking for. I know he has a high salary this year, but I would be lying if I understood the NFL pay vs. salary cap structure. If Tampa asked for a 2nd rounder and his salary didn't hurt us, would you do it?
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 10, 2014, 09:11:05 pm He gets $16 mill (real money and cap wise) every year for the next 5 or 6 years. NO Guaranteed money. Contract is cut and dry and as simple as simple can get.
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 11, 2014, 09:16:13 am Adam Schefter reporting that if Revis is cut looks it like New England or Philly for him
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: masterfins on March 11, 2014, 01:10:29 pm Adam Schefter reporting that if Revis is cut looks it like New England or Philly for him I'm sure the Patsies would like him, but there is no way they would pay him anything close to $16 mil. Top dollar for him is probably in the $10-$12 mil range. Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: Spider-Dan on March 11, 2014, 01:27:38 pm Revis might take a discounted rate to play for the hooded one, particularly since that puts him back in the Jets' division.
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 11, 2014, 01:33:25 pm Browns might pull the trigger on a trade for him. Rumors are out there Pettine wants him in Cleveland. Next 2.5 hours will be interesting
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: masterfins on March 11, 2014, 01:52:10 pm Browns might pull the trigger on a trade for him. Rumors are out there Pettine wants him in Cleveland. Next 2.5 hours will be interesting I don't see any player "wanting" to go to Cleveland, except for the money. Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 11, 2014, 02:04:17 pm I don't see any player "wanting" to go to Cleveland, except for the money. Revis has no say in where he goes if its via trade. As long as the Browns pick up the contract and pay him it....Revis has no say P.S....Revis has ALWAYS been all about the money and doesn't hide from it or say otherwise. He's open about it at least Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on March 11, 2014, 05:46:13 pm Revis might take a discounted rate to play for the hooded one, particularly since that puts him back in the Jets' division. Mevis doesn't give discounts, and the hooded one doesn't pay premiums. I don't see him in NE. Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: Spider-Dan on March 11, 2014, 05:56:39 pm This was Revis' first year being on a pathetically bad team with no hope to compete.
He was spoiled by the Jets' playoff runs early in his career. At some point, he's going to want to play for a team that can contend, instead of simply trying to maximize his income. Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 12, 2014, 12:12:31 am LaCanfora reporting Revis wants to go to NE and the Pats are considering trading for him as of tonight
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: Fau Teixeira on March 12, 2014, 08:42:04 am they just lost talib .. so it makes sense
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: Sunstroke on March 12, 2014, 11:54:16 am Definitely don't want to see NE add a DB of Revis' quality... Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on March 12, 2014, 02:02:59 pm Definitely don't want to see NE add a DB of Revis' quality... I would love to see NE get a DB of Mevis' quality, but not his price tag. Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 12, 2014, 02:10:44 pm I would love to see NE get a DB of Mevis' quality, but not his price tag. Its a 5th round pick. You re-work his deal and bring the cap number down by giving him some guaranteed money over the life of the deal which I am sure he would do to get to NE. Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 12, 2014, 03:40:21 pm Revis was just cut
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: Landshark on March 12, 2014, 03:50:03 pm Major upgrade if Hickey can get him
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 12, 2014, 04:14:45 pm Revis probably going to NE it looks like. A member of the "Revis Camp" (ie his agents office) just told a Jets beat reporter that it is going to happen, he is NE bound

Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: Phishfan on March 12, 2014, 06:38:28 pm Why is everyone crying about Revis being with the pats. We have already played the guy twice a year and gotten through it. We'll get through it again. He isn't what needs to be worried about with the Pats anyway. The only concern about them is when the hell is Brady retiring.
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 12, 2014, 08:27:46 pm Unless the Pats give Brady some weapons on offense they can add Revis all day long. They might win the AFC East but they ain't winning a super bowl with their offensive weapons.....Revis or not
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 12, 2014, 08:29:23 pm ESPN reporting Revis agreed to terms with the Pats. One year for $12 mill
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 12, 2014, 08:34:41 pm Mevis doesn't give discounts, and the hooded one doesn't pay premiums. I don't see him in NE. WRONG on all counts! He is in NE and he gave the Pats a discount Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: masterfins on March 12, 2014, 10:23:09 pm WRONG on all counts! He is in NE and he gave the Pats a discount I wouldn't say he gave the Pats a discount, $12 Mil was the top amount anyone was going to pay him. Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: el diablo on March 12, 2014, 10:32:04 pm The NY vs NE weeks just got a whole lot more entertaining.
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 12, 2014, 10:34:23 pm The NY vs NE weeks just got a whole lot more entertaining. They gotta make it a Week 1 Sunday Night game now for NBC. They have to Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: el diablo on March 12, 2014, 10:53:18 pm Just waiting for what Mr. Ryan has to say.
Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: MikeO on March 12, 2014, 10:58:21 pm Just waiting for what Mr. Ryan has to say. According to NFL Network and other beat reporters in NY Rex was going crazy the last 24 hours with the thought of getting Revis back. He was pushing hard for it, they had the cap space, he was making a plea to get him back to NY. But the decision came from above him. (ie Woody Johnson hates Revis for what they went through a few years back and wants no part of him) Title: Re: Bucs Trying to Trade Revis Post by: el diablo on March 12, 2014, 11:13:07 pm Can't say, I blame the green team's brass. Poor Rex.
