It's become tradition to kiss the bricks after winning the Brickyard 400, started by Dale Jarrett in 1996. The pirate ship is really cool, but after all, its just a pirate ship. I love it when stadiums feature things like that. The bricks goes back so far, though. I thought so, too, but the thing I read said that it started in 1996. That's also when Raymond James Stadium begun construction. I think the brick-kissing thing is related to the track, not the race itself. I could be wrong. The bricks at the starting line are left from before they paved the track in 1961. I always thought the kissing of the bricks was something racers did at that speedway, and not necessarily tied to that particular race.
