Title: Tampa Bay Bucs to bring in Incognito
Post by: masterfins on August 25, 2014, 12:41:27 pm
The Bucs are supposed to bring in Incognito today.  I don't think Incognito was ever assessed a suspension, so should the Bucs sign him will he receive any additional suspension on top of the games missed last year???

From what I read today, he is still under suspension from the league.

According to Jeff Darlington:

Keep in mind as Richie Incognito visits Bucs: He is not yet fully reinstated to play regular season. That’s been month-long sticking point.

Bucs decided to trade for Logan Mankins instead.
Not necessarily instead.

"Tampa Bay's general manager Jason Licht said Tuesday that the Mankins deal does not necessarily end the Bucs' interest in Incognito, per Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune."

Interesting that the NFL feel Richie has been the most responsive to the program they set forth.

"We are working with (Incognito's) people and monitoring his progress and it's gone well," Commissioner Roger Goodell said earlier this month, via NFL Media's Jeff Darlington. "I would say the one person that has been very responsive and gone through the program is Richie Incognito."

In addition to the Bucs, several other teams are interested in Incognito's services, per Darlington.

Now that Incognito is cleared for regular-season action, he will likely beat what once appeared to be long odds to suit up for NFL game action again.

Word is Brady is pretty upset about this.

It would not surprise me the least bit if the Patriots brought Incognito in for a year.  They could get him cheap and he would behave himself for about a year and a half.  The only thing stopping it would be the negative press that Kraft would want to avoid after the Hernandez murders.

NEP don't spend a lot of time worrying about the press.   If BB thinks that this is the right move kraft will sign him. The only question is does bb believe he can control the idiot or if richie I more trouble than he is worth.

RIchie is still looking for a team,  meanwhile Martin might start week 1.
