i like the sentiment .. but it looked like a crap movie to begin with .. theres no way i was gonna watch that in the first place

I was on the fence about the movie, it kinda looked like a turd but probably had funny moments.

I am betting it still gets released, and will be the biggest DVD seller since Snakes On A Plane.

Here's the thing:

I get what SONY is doing.  I hate it.  But I get it.




As a manager, shit rolls up-hill to me and occasionally, you have to ask yourself, simply speaking in financial terms, "do I make more money by just paying this problem to go away?"  That sometimes mean knowing that you're right and caving to the biggest idiot assholes the world has ever known.  Because the other side of the coin is just a miserable shit-storm of hassle.

So, from SONY's point of view, this is a decision to mitigate risk.  Sucks.

I hate it and wish they didn't.

Edit: You also have to boycott all major theater chains since they pulled the movie first.  SONY would've had to release it to only mom and pop theaters, pulling in very little money anyway.

You couldn't pay me to see this movie. I hate Seth Rogen.

I don't doubt the movie is crap.  Never would have watched normally.  But fuck you north Korea I want it to be the highest grossing film ever just to say fuck you north korea

I couldn't care less about this movie. The world is probably a better place without it being released.

I kind of agree with ya on this one...no piss-ant country has ever been as obnoxious and annoying as North Korea. Every time I read a headline about North Korea threatening us or our allies, I just want to go out and kick a North Korean in the nuts.

In semi-related news, I am no longer being considered for a position at the United Nations.

If and when they release the movie, they should make it a double feature with Team America:  World Police.

I don't think this has anything to do with terrorism, after all North Korea would've killed us years ago if they could. This has to do with Sony not wanting any more embarrassing e-mails to be released so they are caving in.

That movie was to show in place of The Interview in a few theaters around the country, but Paramount has already pulled those releases too.

 I wish I made that up, but it's true.  North Korea now dictates the movies we are allowed to watch in America.  Yay!!!

I probably would have never seen it prior to hearing about the hacking scandal. Now I feel like its my American duty to watch it in the name of free speech and screw any other country who doesn't like how we do it here.

The hacker group Anonymous has calmed that they will release the The Interview on Christmas as a present to the American people.

I'm with CF.  I'll watch it just to give two fingers to North Korea.

Word is North Korea is up to their arse in hacking at the moment. Not sure if it is the government's "proportional response" or 4 Chan fellas just looking to screw with them but they are supposedly getting targeted and having massive outages.

SONY is going to release the movie on Crackle now For Free

North Koreas internet is officially shut down. We will never know but I bet the US did this.

North Korea needs to restart their lone computer, then the internet should come back on.

Another thing that people aren't really talking about, these hackers have only released an estimated 2% of the dirty laundry from Sony.  I'm sure that Sony doesn't want this all out there.  I have a feeling that, regardless, this might end the Sony movie studio.  They've not really done well anyway and this is an excuse to get out.

What kind of "dirty laundry" can there possibly be?

I would like to see some other independent studio pick up the movie and release it on DVD.  What are the Koreans going to bomb every Best Buy that sells it?

There's already leaked stuff about them shit-talking their own Adam Sandler movies, dirt about how they're disappointed in their own Spider-man movies and are considering selling back to Marvel in some regard, and a bunch of possible team up movies. 

It is only dirty laundry if you pretend that internal communications are never negative. 

Movie going to be released today on YouTube, Xbox, ect at 1pm by Sony. Not sure if it will be for free but good for them.

It's up on Solar for free already...just finished watching it. I have to admit that it was even funnier than I expected it to be.
