Title: Tannehill continues to improve Post by: CF DolFan on August 05, 2015, 10:56:52 am The loudest chatter coming from camp is how the offensive line is still offensive but in between sacks Tannehill and his new confidence is definitely coming through. He has several touchdown passes including connecting on some deep passes. Even Omar, who is not a fan, had some nice things to say. "Ryan Tannehill is dealing today. He's been steady all camp so far. More accuracy, less turnovers, deep balls. Pocket presence needs work." but then it quickly turned to attacking the O-line again. "If the Dolphins think Ryan Tannehill can become the QB he has the potential to be with this offensive line they are blind, or dumb."

James Walker @JamesWalkerNFL 6h6 hours agoThe amount of QB sacks the #Dolphins' offense has allowed the past 3-4 practices are troubling. #ProtectionIssuesYou can go on and on reading how poorly they are playing ... and as Walker mentioned yesterday ... they've been doing this for years so it's hard to think they will turn it around before the season starts. Title: Re: Tannehill continues to improve Post by: EDGECRUSHER on August 05, 2015, 04:44:48 pm The only 2 comforting things you can take from this is that Mathis is still available and they ARE getting destroyed by perhaps the best D-Line in the NFL.
Of course, the lines from the Jets and Bills are also killer. Turner is embarrassing himself in practice every day. Like the kid doesn't look like he belongs on an NFL field let alone competing for a starting job. Suh is good....he isn't some unblock-able player who wins on every snap. I mean if Turner could slow him down once it would be nice. Thomas is now dinged up/hurt....doesn't look serious. He sucks too (not that it should surprise anyone) Douglas shows promise and will be starting Week 1 at one of the guard spots, not because he is some great talent he gets 1 of the 2 jobs by default. I still think JD Walton will be the other starting guard Week 1 Title: Re: Tannehill continues to improve Post by: Pappy13 on August 05, 2015, 08:07:40 pm It's incredible that we have 2 Pro Bowlers and a future one at RT and our line is still garbage. Don't forget that 1 of those pro bowlers is not playing right now. My understanding is the Olivier is getting to the QB as much as anyone. That shouldn't happen once Albert is back.Title: Re: Tannehill continues to improve Post by: EDGECRUSHER on August 05, 2015, 08:07:48 pm I think Douglas tops out at "not bad" this season and I am totally fine with that. "Not the worst" is an improvement. If we get 2 guards who wouldn't get booted from the CFL, we're in good shape.
Title: Re: Tannehill continues to improve Post by: DZA on August 06, 2015, 12:47:13 am Im still at awe the Philbin, Lazor, Ross, etc etc still have not adress the OLine issues. Its obvious that Tomas and Turner gonna suck rocks. IF SUH, Wake, and Vernon killing them imagine what the rest of the league will do.
Title: Re: Tannehill continues to improve Post by: Pappy13 on August 10, 2015, 08:10:47 pm I didn't want to start a new thread on this so I decided to put this here instead. I think the below is a wonderful analysis of why the problems that Tannehill has had hitting the deep ball have not just been on him. I've said this before and this analysis backs it up that while Wallace has terrific straight line speed, he leaves a lot to be desired in other ways that made him a very poor match for Tannehill.
http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/142017354/ryan-tannehill-training-camp-reviews-true?tcid=tw_share Notice that 2 of the passes they broke down in that article were from the first game against New England, the one to Wallace in the corner of the endzone and the one to Sims at the goal line later in the game. Both of these passes SHOULD have been TD's in my opinion and the reason they weren't were SOLELY because of the receiver. Had Wallace and Sims come down with those passes, it would have been one of Tannehills best games of the year. Something that I pointed out many months ago in my own analysis. http://www.thedolphinsmakemecry.com/forums/index.php?topic=23048.msg314310#msg314310 Title: Re: Tannehill continues to improve Post by: EDGECRUSHER on August 10, 2015, 08:44:19 pm It's funny that Tanny is so far killing it with his deep ball and he doesn't even have his Top 2 receivers in Parker and Stills due to injury.
