Title: Game Balls - Jets Post by: masterfins on October 04, 2015, 04:38:11 pm Gotta go to the Refs, they did their utmost best to keep Miami in the game.
HM - Tanny, impressive the way he kept getting up after being knocked on his butt all day. (My only criticism would be that since the coaching staff refuses to get in the face of the O-line, that it's your job to start giving them hell). HM - Landry, one of the few players that played with any heart today. HM - Punter Matt Darr - He did a great job punting, great addition to the team. Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: Run Ricky Run on October 04, 2015, 06:38:34 pm Landry seriously. Wtf. You guys love him for absolutely no reason. 4 Rec on 12 targets for 40 yards. He has a ceiling of Davonte bess.
Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: Dolphin-UK on October 04, 2015, 07:20:01 pm I am conflicted over Landry because he seemed like he was the only guy actually trying apart from Tanny but at the same time I'm pretty sure he dropped at least 4 passes which hit him in the hands.
Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: MikeO on October 04, 2015, 07:33:58 pm The fact Tannehill keeps getting up after these beatings for 4 straight years and the fact he hasn't thrown his offensive line under the bus in the press gives him a GAME BALL FOR LIFE in my book
Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: masterfins on October 04, 2015, 08:00:56 pm Landry seriously. Wtf. You guys love him for absolutely no reason. 4 Rec on 12 targets for 40 yards. He has a ceiling of Davonte bess. Was there a receiver that played better today??? (Not to mention he had some good punt returns). No ones calling him a #1 receiver, but he outplayed everyone today. Week 2 over 100 yards receiving. Week 3 was mediocre as was week 4. ...and that's with no offensive line for his QB. He's not an Antonio Brown, but he is good and you would have to know 0.0 about football to think otherwise. His Y/r last year was the 2nd worst among wide receivers (the other only had 44 targets) and was one of the worst y/r seasons of all time. Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: miamid45 on October 04, 2015, 09:43:03 pm he is not good and to think otherwise you would need to know 0 about football. Landry is not the problem and to label him as a bad WR seems foolish to me. This team simply has the worst HC and Oline in the NFL. A recipe for disaster in my books! Should be 0-4 if not for that Redskins meltdown in Game 1. If you are going to judge him on only Y/R, then I would have to concur with MikeO's opinion about you. Keep drinking the Landry koolaid. Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: dolphins4life on October 04, 2015, 11:28:06 pm Andrew Franks lol
Tannehill was good today, too. Too bad the rest of his team stinks. Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: Tenshot13 on October 05, 2015, 07:28:30 am Should I judge him on his fumbles instead? No one is this moronic, right?Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: Run Ricky Run on October 05, 2015, 07:31:09 am This is all trolling for the sake of trolling. No one is this moronic, right? Ignoring his name and he is on the dolphins. He is a receiver who has a poor catch %, fumbles a lot, doesn't have a very good y/r, not even good speed, no height. And he is the savior of the franchise? Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: Tenshot13 on October 05, 2015, 07:48:34 am Ignoring his name and he is on the dolphins. Not one person said he's the savior of our franchise. He's a good player, not great. Your hate for him is ignorant and unwarranted. There are a multitude of players you could jump on for poor play on this team, and you pick the one guy that has produced? Lol. Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on October 05, 2015, 08:10:01 am Cheerleaders. Dolphins brought theirs, Jets didn't.
Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: fyo on October 05, 2015, 08:14:16 am Hard to give a game ball to anyone after that farce of a game. I'm amazed that Tannehill gets up after every play, but he did have some throws that were slightly off target that should have been hit. The offensive line was beyond pathetic. Suh did well against double teams all day, often collapsing the pocket or getting to the running back... but he didn't quite manage to get the sack or the tackle once rid of the double team, so a bit like Tannehill, he did well, but left me wanting just a bit more.
I think the only player where I thought he got about as much out of it as he possibly could, and kept fighting all the way, was Landry. He had a good game. Good enough for my game ball, anyway. Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: MikeO on October 05, 2015, 08:56:36 am Ignoring his name and he is on the dolphins. He has fumbled ONCE since being in the NFL! So one fumble in 20 games means the player "Fumbles Alot" You are a fool! Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: Dolphin-UK on October 05, 2015, 09:28:04 am Can I give a game ball to the fan to my left as we tried to exit the game and get to the underground station. He got impatient with the queue, climbed a fence with spikes on it and impaled his arm, but with his feet not touching the floor so he couldn't lift himself up to unhook himself...a 5 inch spike in his arm was a pretty disgusting sight, it was pretty funny though.
Edit to add, I understand he was freed as we moved a little further down and was alright apart from the obvious. If he had been seriously injured I would not have said it was funny. Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: MikeO on October 05, 2015, 10:23:50 am Once or 7 times. he has 1 lost fumble in 20 games. It's actually documented. Use Google, it's your friend! Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: Dolphster on October 05, 2015, 10:52:07 am Tannehill gets the game ball (if there is one) for the reasons that others have stated. I keep waiting for him to just lose it and go postal one of these days on his offensive line. Maybe he lays into them behind closed doors and we just don't hear about it. But the kid appears to have the patience of a freaking saint.
Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: Run Ricky Run on October 05, 2015, 12:31:39 pm Of redhead 7 fumbles for Landry but maybe they arent good record keepers.
Title: Re: Game Balls - Jets Post by: Spider-Dan on October 05, 2015, 12:43:21 pm Pro-football-reference says that Landry has fumbled 7 times and recovered 2 fumbles.
Now, if Landry had fumbled 7 times and recovered 6 of them himself, then sure, I would agree that he has really "fumbled" once. But you can't just ignore fumbles that his teammates are fortunate enough to recover; even if only one of those fumbles resulted in a turnover, they are still meaningful fumbles. |
