Title: Browns shopping OL stars
Post by: mecadonzilla on November 03, 2015, 12:58:01 am
So, the Browns are shopping Alex Mack (center) and Joe Thomas (LT) on the eve of the trade deadline.  Supposedly, C and LT are the positions that we don't need, but if a great OL player can be nabbed, why not consider it?  This line could use an infusion of any kind of talent.

LT is absolutely an area of need as Albert is constantly hurt. I'm not sure I would even consider the asking price though.

Problem is with an interim coach and being a long shot to make the playoffs even with such a trade, is not when you mortgage future draft picks for this year.

The asking price for pro bowl linemen like Thomas and Mack (no UNLV reference) would have to be insanely high.

They want 2 first rounds picks for Thomas. Obviously they aren't really looking to get rid of him.

I sure wish we'd brought that mean guy back here.

Richie Incognito, G, Bills (one year, $1.1 million, 91.3 overall grade)
The Bills acquired Incognito for practically nothing in the offseason, and he has responded by producing the third-best PFF grade among guards. Incognito has been almost equally good as a run blocker (89.7) and as a pass protector (87.9), allowing just three QB hits and hurries, tied for sixth among guards is pass blocking efficiency.

Mack has a no trade and said he wouldn't waive it, so they couldn't move him.

For Thomas they wanted 2 first round picks, no team was giving up that.

So I'm not sure Cleveland was serious about trading either honestly. Deadline came and gone and out of the 4 guys they wanted to move they moved none. If they wanted to clean house and stockpile picks they would have found a way to move those guys
