Me again!

I happen to be out in New York in late May for a few days and was thinking about taking in some Yankee Stadium action because, well, why not?

the 26th of May is the final game in the run against the Blue Jays, but tickets are significantly cheaper than other days, any reason why this might be or any advice in general?

Just a guess on the ticket price, the 26th is a day game on a Thursday. You have to entice people to be off work. The other games are at night.

Day games during the week seem to be a tough draw league-wide, even the Yankees, so tickets might be cheaper.

My wife and I visited Yankee Stadium a few years ago.  Most days they do tours on game day in the morning, but not sure how that would work for an afternoon game. Recommend the tour.  Also, you'll wanna get there early to see the monument stuff out in center field.  We got there too late and missed it. 

You can take the subway to the stadium.  There's a stop mere steps from the stadium gates.  In all, the stadium is really cool and definitely a site to see.

Is it available after games? I'm the type that would rather watch the entire game and then let the crowd thin out while doing something else. The people who rush for the exits are usually the ones stuck in the mess.

Not sure... Don't think so.  According to Wikipedia:

"Spectators can visit Monument Park prior to the beginning of each game. It closes around a half hour before first pitch."

Don't let the Yankees attendance numbers fool you. The stadium may say they sold 40,000 tickets for a game, but you'd be shocked to find 20,000 of them and they are all quiet.

The new stadium is way too expensive and corporate. It's one of the friendlier ballparks in the league for visitors to play in. Very unlike the old stadium.

Bring cash. Lots of it. $35 to park if you drive there.

i second that. Worth a visit as long as you take out a second mortgage to go. I used to go a couple time a year but starting last year I decided they won't be seeing me my face there live again until they field a starting lineup that makes spending that kind of scrap worth watching. Forget the monument park idea....you'll never get in. Walk the ballpark instead, and check out the nut jobs  out behind centerfield all gassed up around the 7th inning.
