No bat flips,no showing up the pitcher,admiring home runs,Bean balls,etc, doing all the things the same way as they've done for a 100 years. New school MLB Let's be more fun, Flip a bat,where some funky colored shoes,etc This isn't DH,no DH debate...I know we've discussed this before. How do you like your MLB? Even though Japanese baseball has different customs,watching a game there would be cool!
Former Cubs backup catcher John Baker wrote an article about playing in the Caribbean,or Mexico. Riding a bus,and stopping at rest stop,and the American hitter buying brash colorful beads. Telling Baker that when he hits a home run He'll flip his baT really high in the air,and spin those brash beads around his neck...It's just the customs,the way they do it here...At the bottom of the article Baker says the American player It was his future teammate Anthony Rizzo. If it's an emotion moment in the game, Bautista's bat flip last year, was awesome to me...It was pure emotion. Post by: CF DolFan on May 19, 2016, 03:13:13 pm I think I'm pretty much old school but I don't mind hitters showing up pitchers. With that said I also don't mind retaliation. In my opinion if you're going to be "in your face" about something you need to accept the consequences.

Post by: masterfins on May 19, 2016, 04:52:38 pm I'm mostly old school, kind of act like you've been there before. If you hit a pivotal game winning home run, like in the playoffs, then a little celebration is okay as long as it's not directed at the pitcher/other team. Alternatively, if you hit a home run mid season, in the middle of the game, and act like you just won the World Series then you deserve to be plunked. The same thing annoys me in the NFL, like when a meaningless TD is scored by the losing team (or a tackle is made by a guy who hasn't made a stop the whole game) and they want to celebrate; I wish there was a way to plunk that guy with a 90 mph fastball.
