Title: Your top 5 of 1995 (movies, and music) Post by: DaLittle B on August 09, 2016, 12:47:19 pm This thread is beacuase one of my coworkers making me feel old,and the desire to talk something else.... :D
I realize the it was over 20 years ago,and a bit odd of a number being 21 years ago.... What are your Top 5 movies,Songs, and Albums (CD's,cassette tapes) of 1995? Title: Re: Your top 5 of 1995 (movies, and music) Post by: Phishfan on August 09, 2016, 01:30:47 pm I'll be honest, I was at an age and place in my life where I need to go back and read a review of the year 1995 before I can answer. Those years were fuzzy. Answer to come.
Title: Re: Your top 5 of 1995 (movies, and music) Post by: fyo on August 09, 2016, 03:19:55 pm 1995 was a great year for movies. The Usual Suspects, Toy Story, 12 Monkeys, and Heat are probably my favorites looking back, although you could mention another handful that would be the top movies in other years (I quite liked Waterworld... Casino, Braveheart, Seven, Apollo 13...).
I think I had a brief moment of "Britpop" fascination right around '95. I know I have an Oasis CD, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, lying around somewhere. Hasn't been played in over 15 years, though, and probably won't ever be again. Not one song on the album I would get that prickly nostalgic feeling for when hearing it on the radio. I'm also somewhat ashamed to admit I liked the Alanis Morisette album Jagged Little Pill. Also have that lying around somewhere. Hasn't been played in > 10 years and I would probably change the channel if I heard any of it on the radio. Looking back over the charts, there's a lot of decent music, but nothing that really pops for me. Title: Re: Your top 5 of 1995 (movies, and music) Post by: DaLittle B on August 09, 2016, 07:39:28 pm I struggled with this immensely,as I know stuff my 20 yr old self liked is far different than stuff my 40-41 yr old self wouldn't watch/listen too now...
Albums (a lot more what I like now, then what I liked them) In no particular order - Charlie Daniels band - Same Ole me - I remember my brother and I buying this one at the same time, and talking on the phone about "Hey you need to listen to the new Charlie Daniels Album" -It's a Mystery - Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band After hearing this at my brothers ,I went and bought it.. Those were also my 1st - 2 Cd's I ever bought... -Alanis Morisette - Jagged little pill -Shania Twian - The Woman in me -Van Halen - Balance Rhett Akins - a Thousand memories ---- Is another one that could easily be there for me. Yeah musically at that time I was all over the place, and about the time I really started getting into country...I still listen to all these, just on MP's now.. Looking at the list,There are a ton of albums/songs, that to this day I've never heard of,or know the name but couldn't name a single song by them... Movies I'll be back in a few minutes. Songs - Tim Mcgraw - I like it,I love it Googoo Dolls - Name Junior Brown- My Wife Thinks You're Dead Bob Seger and the silver bullet band - By the River Collective soul - December Movies My 20 year old self would list things like Billy Madison,Tommy Boy,MallRats,Congo (I got laid in the back of My old Ramcharger at drive in),and Jury Duty. Ok Congo has strange meaning, even though the movie was pretty ehh...meh... Most of those movies I wouldn't watch today, even bored out of my mind. So my list is Crimson Tide Forget Paris - still one of my favorite all time movies. outbreak Murder in the first The Indian in the Cupboard Others I like that aren't the "Best",and I still like to watch...House guest,Babe,Braveheart,Jumanji,While you were sleeping, and Babe The movies like The Usual Suspects...They're great movies, but for me not real re-watchable..
