Christmas in October. Turner and Thomas are gone.

Kind of shocking our staff and front office couldn't do this in August though and see these two just can't play. Shows they may be in over their heads

Edit: Jamil Douglas was also just cut. Two 3rd round picks and a 4th round pick cut in one day all on the o-line.

And who may I ask, will replace these lifeless bodies?

^ At lunch today, I said that even though it might not make sense, that I would be happy to see them cut Turner. 

It doesn't matter who replaces them.  Practice squad, waivers, etc.  But it guarantees that they won't be on the roster next year.

Sam Young is being re-signed to play LT until Albert and/or Tunsil come back.

Im sure they will find two other o-linemen to replace the other 2 guys cut. Not like they can sign people any worse. Those 3 players were dog crap as players.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm glad they're gone. I was just wondering if they had replaced them yet. With this team I wouldn't be surprised if they replaced lifeless bodies with skeletons.

Great move by Gase.  When your players rank somewhere in the mid 60's (last year), then they need to be gone.  They can bring in some undrafted guys who can't be any worse.  If the line wasn't so riddled with injuries James would probably be on the practice squad.

James used to play well. He's going through some kind of a slump but he has been a decent lineman.

On the one hand, I'm glad to see both of them gone.  But on the other hand, I am truly baffled at how this team assesses talent.  Just about all of us here publicly stated that other than Tunsil, we saw zero upgrade during the offseason on the OL or at Cornerback.  I don't understand how casual observers (fans) like us can see things that are glaringly obvious and yet the decision makers for the team who get paid to see these things don't see them.  I suppose it is quite possible that the team knew that the OL and Cornerback positions were both going to suck again but of course they can't state that publicly to the media and they essentially have to say that they are improved before the season starts.  Knowing full well that the glaring light of the regular season is going to prove to everyone otherwise.  And of course that begs the question of if they knew that the OL position was going to suck, why did they not do more to address it.  At CB, at least they did make multiple personnel changes during the offseason to try to address it.  Obviously the changes haven't made much (if any) difference, but at least they tried something.  At the OL it has been essentially the same guys who we already knew didn't have the capability to do the job.  And good luck finding anyone available now that we are 5 weeks into the season that is going to be any kind of an upgrade.  Quality OL guys are not sitting at home on their couches at week 5.  Tanny has been a disappointment and has not seemed to improve much from his rookie season.  But the OL has been so astoundingly bad that I don't think anyone other than someone with a lightning quick release of the ball (remember Marino's release?) would have any chance at being successful on this team. 

I've been a huge fan of this team for 45 years since I was a little kid.  They will always be my team.  But this team just baffles me.  They seem to be really bad from the personnel on the field all the way through the front office.  It may be a really long time before this team is good again.  If they were just a couple players away from being good or if the front office instilled any confidence that were capable of successfully rebuilding then I would at least have something to base a little optimism on.  But I just don't see anything at all to be optimistic about. 

Pretty much mirrors my thoughts and feelings.

Everyone knew before this year Thomas and Turner were not NFL standard, but the top brass seemed to think "they would be okay with another offseason with more weights" or some crap like that....

So after injuries to the starters they really throw them in the deep end at left tackle and guard - seriously, WTF did they expect was going to happen? One of these guys on the line is bad enough, two is terrible, but right next to each other "protecting" Tannehill's blind side? I'm amazed Tannehill did not leave the field in a body bag!

It's a good, long overdue move to finally get rid of these two, that's the good news. The question now is, what's next?
