Title: The 2000s (a show)
Post by: Dave Gray on February 21, 2019, 03:16:11 pm
There is a show on Netflix (originally produced by CNN) that covers the major influences in pop culture, technology, politics, and world affairs throughout a decade.  It started with the 60s.  They've done 70s, 80s, 90s...and now, the 2000s have just hit Netflix.

I really can't stress enough how good this show is.  It's a really great overview of what went down in the decade.  The old ones are great (60s were crazy, I didn't know a ton about the 70s....) but the newer ones are full of nostalgia.

Sometimes it's hard to realize how influential things are while you're living through them, so this is a look back...  I really love it.

Good series. I may need to rewatch.

I just watched the music one, that I wasn't looking forward to, because honestly, I don't think it was a good decade for music.  ...and that's exactly why the episode was good.  It tied all of the stuff I'd just watched about 9/11, the Iraq War, and the Financial Crisis into how traditional rock music basically died that decade.

It was eye opening.  Even though I had access to all that info, I never really put together the puzzle.
