We're in a good spot because we are so godawful right now. We are fine with staying put and selecting 1 of about 10 different guys and we're fine with trading down and collecting more picks. I'll gladly drop back 4 spots for a 2nd rounder.

I won't want to drop back 4 spots for a 2020 4th rounder though, I remember the Bills traded down last year and I wanted to break my TV over the pathetic haul the other GM got.

This is gigantic, now they won't take one in 2020 and they might even win more than 2 games now. What a break for our upcoming terrible campaign.

So many Line guys coming off the board, very stacked draft for these guys. Thank God the Giants took a QB and probably the wrong QB.

Now, we have a chance to draft elite talent at different spots or trade down and accumulate more picks.

I'd be the most happiest with Jawaan Taylor as our pick.

Finally the Fins get a 1st round pick right!!!!   Per the other thread where me and Sunstroke both mentioned Wilkens, all I can say is when me and Stroker say something, you can take it to the bank.   

Excellent pick. Christian is a beast and he comes from a great program plus he just hurt Goodell and that's great.

Smart ass kid too. Looks like he was raised great so we don't have to worry about stupid DUIs or domestic abuse.

Skins take Haskins and the QB needy teams who also suck are getting their guys this year. Looking real good for us next year to get Tua as long as we don't do anything stupid like winning 5 games.

I'm sure Wilkins will be a heck of a player, but I'm disappointed that the Dolphins didn't take Drew Lock since he was available. IMO Lock is going to be a star in the NFL, and thinking Miami is going to be miraculously in the #1 draft position next year is too pessimistic.  I hope the Raiders take Lock with one of their remaining picks because if he falls to the Patriots we could be regretting this for the next 15 years.

I get what you are saying, but when your team is an absolute dumpster fire (which the Dolphins are) and you have to almost completely rebuild (as the Dolphins do), you have to start building at the DL and OL. 

Not just that, but if you take a QB he kind of has to be a consensus franchise QB. I know there is no guarantee but no QB this year is an amazing option for us.

Next year will many more QB options than this year's class. The Phins will in the running for a QB next draft.

We're going to get another very good player in the 2nd round.  I'm surprised to see a lot of 1st round talent still available.

After reflection I have to say I love our first pick more and not just because he’s going to be a great player. It means Chris Grier has a plan and is sticking to it and not constantly changing based on shiny things distracting him. In the past I do think we would have jumped on Haskins although that was never our plan.

It really seems like we’ve moved past the immediate gratification descisions that have doomed our team for the last 20 years. Kudos to Grier for having a vision and working towards that goal!!

Excellent pick last night for Miami...Wilkins is going to be an impact player from day one.

Now...if Miami can snag either D.K. Metcalf, Cody Ford, Greedy Williams or Trayvon Mullen in round two, Miami will be golden.

Stroke ... how much college football do you watch or do you wait until before the draft to research players?

How is Jawaan Taylor still on the board?

No chance he is there when we pick again but we should still be able to get a quality player.

I was hearing that Taylor has his fair share of issues, and a lot of his previous draft status was the media blowing smoke.

Great pick by the Dolphins solid team leader in college and great athleticism.  Will be an anchor for that DL for years to come, plus a great personality.  Two years of enjoying the 1st pick in MIA

I watch almost as much college football as NFL during the season (3-4 games per week). I go a little crazy once the season ends, literally going down positional lists and digging up film highlights on all the primary positions (no FB, P, K or LS). I got through the top-20 at each position (that had 20 viable prospects) before this year's draft.


I like them both...but I like Mullen's chances of being the better pro. I like Greedy Williams' chances to be the best of the three though.

Dolphins draft before NE.  If he is still there at 48 Mia should take him, if they don’t, and he is still there at 56 I would love to see him be Bradys understudy.

Dolphins on the clock and DK metcalf is available. I’d love to see that pick up, but it’s not as practical as a big ugly O lineman.

I'd take DK Metcalf but that Center is available. So, I think we are taking him instead.

We traded with New Orleans and move back to 62. That's a huge fall with some good talent available, so I hope we got something good in return. I don't see it yet.

That's good, I'll take that. I wanted McKoy and they took him, but a 2nd next year? Gotta make that trade. All in for 2020, we have enough draft ammo to get the #1 pick if we don't finish with the worst record now.

Yeah, this guy had one of those draft commercials, why is he still available? Did some medical issue come up during the combine or something?

We have traded the pick to the Cards for Rosen.

The Cards also have given us their 5th rounder in 2020. I think we have something like 14 picks in that draft now. Major ammo to trade up and get talent.

So does this mean that the dolphins think that he is the QB of the future?

So on a team with holes all over the front lines on both sides of the ball, they draft ONE D lineman, and trade away for a QB. I was under the assumption that they wanted to rebuild, starting with the trenches.

Correction: WE send Arizona our 5th rounder in 2020. That minor draft pick really pisses me off for some reason since the Cards were lucky to get a 2nd for him in the first place with no one else wanting him.

We will forget this if Rosen does great this year.....with no talent anywhere on the field. Fuck, why did we do this again? How can he possibly succeed with no talent anywhere? We just raided the AAF for players.

Yeah I would have been fine with rolling the dice on Rosen for a third otherwise fuck it. We have a lot of holes and this just seems like a waste. We need o-line men and the team never addresses it. I think yesterday’s pick was great but I’m not happy with today. There are at least 3 quarterbacks worth it next year that we could get now we just lost 2 picks that we could use. Oh well I’ve been a fan of this team since I was in 2nd grade and I’ve never seen more than 11 wins. I thought they were all in on this rebuild and get a qb next year. As I said elsewhere I would have been fine with Rosen for a third but this seems like a lot. Hope it works out.

We just drafted OG Michael Deiter. He has experience as a Center, LG and LT. So, that makes two actual human beings on our O-Line.

Yes, an aging and incredibly inconsistent veteran and a 2nd year youngster who was so horrible that the team who drafted him saw absolutely no sign of future improvement and dumped his ass after just one year.   This team is going to be shitty for the rest of my life.   And this after they toyed with my emotions by making an excellent 1st round pick last night.

Y'all are terrible.  Think of it this way, we moved our 2nd rounder this year to next year, and got a top 10 first round QB for free.

Notes I’ve read on this guy aren’t very favorable. Essentially what I read says he will be a solid back up, but doesn’t have the skill set to be a starter. I saw this on NFL app

He started 54 straight games for Wisconsin, a school record and fared very well against elite competition. Saw in two places that he projects as a Guard and can have a lengthy NFL career but there won't be any Pro Bowls in his future.

I would gladly take that as a 3rd round pick. Shit, I'd take a serviceable Guard for 10 years as a 1st round pick.

Looks like Tenshot has already ordered his Rosen jersey. What color did you get? Does it say #1 fan? :P

Before I declare this draft a bust or a win, I'm going to await D4L's expert analysis and breakdown of the draft.  I'm on board with whatever he says.

That is some of BB rubbing off on Grier, valuing versatility.  You can't have a backup LT, backup RT, backup C, backup LG and backup RG.  You need some guys that can play multiple positions.     

Especially if you don't have a starter at most of those positions.  >:D
