Ian Rapoport @RapSheet I ran into #Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick last night, and if there was any doubt about him playing in 2020, there isn’t now. Fitz confirmed he’s playing and with the #Dolphins being very open about wanting him to play for them, expect that to happen. This works out great, he can mentor whoever we draft (Tua). He seems ready to make another run at it next year. I'm fine with him being the QB of the Dolphins next year at this point.

Fitz knows what his job is, he is a great teammate and Tua can learn a lot as well as getting healthy during the first year if he sits out for the majority of it. We thought it would be Rosen but seems pretty clear Miami does not so here we go. Tua won't have half the learning time either because he will have to focus on rehab.

So, didn't really make a ton of sense to have him sit after only playing him 3 games. It's sadly obvious at this point that the team will either have him be the 3rd stringer next season or trade him for a 5th rounder at best.
