Title: Bernie drops out Post by: Phishfan on April 08, 2020, 01:11:41 pm This sets up Biden against Trump. Please keep in mind what many of us pointed out before, if you want Trump out you need to vote united and make your political statements outside the voting booth.
Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on April 08, 2020, 02:01:55 pm Voting shouldn't be thought of as a marriage but as public transport. You aren't waiting for the perfect one to come along. If there isn't a bus going exactly where you want to go, you don't stay home, you hop on the bus going closest to your destination.

That is going the wrong direction. Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Tenshot13 on April 08, 2020, 02:53:05 pm At least it's a known direction, you'd have to put out a silver alert to find Biden's direction. >:D

The US is already worse at containment than almost every other nation, and the only prospect on the horizon of someone else possibly doing worse than us is when this cyclone sweeps through India.
Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Fau Teixeira on April 08, 2020, 03:24:34 pm How anyone votes for Trump after watching his "updates" is beyond me. at this point, I'm just assuming they're mentally challenged, there has never been a single less mentally fit president. He's even more incompetent and spineless in a crisis than anyone had ever feared.
Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: CF DolFan on April 08, 2020, 03:43:30 pm I swear it's obvious you guys "only" watch liberal news. I see the snippets they print or show everyday but I also see the rest of the story so that it's actually in context. Other than using street jargon he's been perfectly fine. Sure i'd change some of the things he says but his actions have been fine considering no one has ever dealt with this before.
Liberals think Trump started out as a racist who stopped flights from China while being impeached and is now doing nothing (although several Democrats have commended him) and is now pushing medicine because he owns a stake in it. Even Snopes says that's wrong but yet MSNBC, CNN, and Huntington Post keep repeating it. Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: CF DolFan on April 08, 2020, 03:54:56 pm Bernie's 2016 vacation home is in Vermont. Anyone want to guess where his 2020 house is going to be? My guess is California or Florida but a friend thinks it will be somewhere in the Hamptons.
Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Sunstroke on April 08, 2020, 04:12:54 pm I swear it's obvious you guys "only" watch liberal news. I watch every news outlet except Fox...ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN (very liberal) MSNBC (even more liberal), and when I see anything that triggers my "that doesn't sound right" alarm, I look to find a local source to confirm. You're the one on a strict diet of Fox news and the BS that Trump serves up. You'll be in hell eventually anyhow, might as well take a non stop trip.... Ancient man made up Hell as a control mechanism for the masses...nobody actually goes there. Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Spider-Dan on April 08, 2020, 05:37:14 pm CF, South Korea and the US had their first C-19 cases on the same day. What is your explanation for why our response has been so much less effective than theirs? (Or do you reject the very premise that their response has been more effective?)
Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Tenshot13 on April 08, 2020, 08:49:02 pm Does anyone know what the percentage of the populations have been infected per region?
Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Dave Gray on April 08, 2020, 08:57:04 pm I will be voting for the Democratic nominee, be it Biden or if he gets Covid and can't continue, whatever stiff they stick in his place. I've never been more disheartened by any politician that Donald Trump. I will be glad when he's gone and gladder when history judges him with shame.
Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Spider-Dan on April 08, 2020, 11:50:23 pm The sooner Biden picks a VP, the better.
I think Harris is a good choice. Given the risk of C-19, Warren is too old, IMO; can't risk having both people on the ticket in the ICU. Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: CF DolFan on April 09, 2020, 10:02:10 am CF, South Korea and the US had their first C-19 cases on the same day. What is your explanation for why our response has been so much less effective than theirs? (Or do you reject the very premise that their response has been more effective?) Well let's look at New York which has more cases than any other country. Trump was getting bashed for limiting flights from places like China while liberals were encouraging partying and attacking Tucker Carlson for defending Trump. Yes some Fox News people were selling the "overreaction" but they were in good company from both parties. -When the president first took action there were 6 cases of coronavirus reported in the United States and no deaths. -New York City mayor Bill de Blasio and his health commissioner, Oxiris Barbot, to spend February and part of March dismissing the pandemic. They urged New Yorkers to disregard any fears about the virus and attend the Chinese New Year celebrations and parade in New York’s Chinatown. -House speaker Nancy Pelosi did the same thing while promoting the Chinese New Year festivities held in her native San Francisco’s Chinatown. While no one was on top of this thing that no one (in our country) in our life time has dealt with it's pretty obvious by going back and looking that at least Trump was trying something while Democrat leaders were looking to impeach and purposely attack Trump for doing anything. Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: CF DolFan on April 09, 2020, 10:03:53 am I watch every news outlet except Fox...ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN (very liberal) MSNBC (even more liberal), and when I see anything that triggers my "that doesn't sound right" alarm, I look to find a local source to confirm. You couldn't be further from the truth. Fox News is actually the last place I get any news and isn't even listed as a favorites on my pc. You're the one on a strict diet of Fox news and the BS that Trump serves up. Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: CF DolFan on April 09, 2020, 10:13:59 am The sooner Biden picks a VP, the better. Many Conservatives are convinced it will be Hillary. No legs to that on the liberal side? I think Harris is a good choice. Given the risk of C-19, Warren is too old, IMO; can't risk having both people on the ticket in the ICU. Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Dave Gray on April 09, 2020, 10:18:06 am Many Conservatives are convinced it will be Hillary. No legs to that on the liberal side? Nope. Conservatives are obsessed with her. Liberals don't care. Nobody I know has ever mentioned her as VP, in media or in person. It's just conservative spin to get you all riled up. Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Sunstroke on April 09, 2020, 11:07:05 am You couldn't be further from the truth. Fox News is actually the last place I get any news and isn't even listed as a favorites on my pc. Based on your posts up here, I have a very hard time believing you could listen to ANY news source other than Fox talking about Trump without changing the channel. Maybe Breitbart? Do they do news outside of an internet format? Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Spider-Dan on April 09, 2020, 12:33:11 pm Well let's look at New York which has more cases than any other country. Trump was getting bashed for limiting flights from places like China while liberals were encouraging partying and attacking Tucker Carlson for defending Trump. Since you're specifically talking about New York, it has already been shown that NY's outbreak originated from travelers from Europe, not China. (https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/08/science/new-york-coronavirus-cases-europe-genomes.html) Additionally, Trump's China "ban" did not apply to US citizens. So we are left with another southern wall or "Muslim ban" situation: it's a terrible plan that's also ineffective because it's incompetently conceived, but it was never intended to be effective in the first place. It's strictly theater for xenophobes. But let's go ahead and give Trump credit for the "China ban" on February 2nd. What else did he do for the next six weeks? He talked about a "Democrat hoax," insisted that it would disappear, and took virtually no domestic action whatsoever. Quote New York City mayor Bill de Blasio and his health commissioner, Oxiris Barbot, to spend February and part of March dismissing the pandemic. They urged New Yorkers to disregard any fears about the virus and attend the Chinese New Year celebrations and parade in New York’s Chinatown. NYC's Lunar New Year celebration was on February 9th-10th. The first C-19 case in NY state was on March 1st.Quote House speaker Nancy Pelosi did the same thing while promoting the Chinese New Year festivities held in her native San Francisco’s Chinatown. Pelosi issued that statement on January 25th. The first C-19 case in CA was confirmed the next day.Neither of these people are POTUS. It is the White House that sets the national response. So why has our response as a country been so vastly inferior to S.Korea? Are we passing the buck to mayors and House members now? Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: CF DolFan on April 09, 2020, 02:32:19 pm Nope. Conservatives are obsessed with her. Liberals don't care. Nobody I know has ever mentioned her as VP, in media or in person. It's just conservative spin to get you all riled up. I don't doubt that one bit on the conservative sides. I've never personally thought it would happen but once Bloomberg mentioned her I did pause to give it thought. I honestly think Trump will win pretty easily. The few Bernie supporters I know are either going to vote Trump or not vote for either ... which helps Trump. Even Bernie supporter Joe Rogan is now backing Trump. I think a lot of the same people who were backing Bernie because they hate the establishment will refuse to support Biden who is obviously part of the establishment. Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: pondwater on April 09, 2020, 03:05:39 pm I watch every news outlet except Fox...ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN (very liberal) MSNBC (even more liberal), and when I see anything that triggers my "that doesn't sound right" alarm, I look to find a local source to confirm. I know that and you know that. But I hate to point out the obvious. You're the one who used the "straight to hell" lingo, LMAO.You're the one on a strict diet of Fox news and the BS that Trump serves up. Ancient man made up Hell as a control mechanism for the masses...nobody actually goes there. Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Spider-Dan on April 09, 2020, 04:44:24 pm Based on your posts up here, I have a very hard time believing you could listen to ANY news source other than Fox talking about Trump without changing the channel. Maybe Breitbart? Do they do news outside of an internet format? One America News Network (OAN) is the new network for those who feel Fox News has drifted too far left. Here's an example of some of their outstanding work:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDaKQVIsl-I Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Dave Gray on April 09, 2020, 04:54:59 pm Most Bernie supporters will vote for for Biden. The vast majority. There will be some that cross over or some that stay home. But most of the time, liberals will vote for the more liberal of the two viable choices.
Title: Re: Bernie drops out Post by: Spider-Dan on April 09, 2020, 08:13:53 pm The Berners who won't vote for Biden this time (which, to be clear, is an extremely-small-yet-very-loud minority) aren't worth chasing. Anyone on "the left" who can look at the last 3.5 years and think this is the-same-or-better than when Bill Clinton or Barack Obama were in the WH is not an "ally" worth catering to.
I'm beyond sick of the self-styled Dirtbag Left that insists Democrats are disgusting, evil corporatists but Republicans are really just closeted socialists who have lost their way. Screw those guys. Let them walk. |
