Title: Should Gase Be Fired if the Jets Lose Thursday? Post by: EDGECRUSHER on September 29, 2020, 04:37:01 pm They are facing a bad Broncos team that is already decimated with injuries. If they drop to 0-4, does Gase get fired so the new coach has time to get things in order? The team is terrible, they aren't winning 5 games this year. Why delay the inevitable?

But as to whether he "should" get fired, I have no idea. Without having any insight into the inner team workings of the Jets, it would just be a wild guess. Do the players respond to him well, does he get them to put forth 100% effort? Does he get along with upper management? There are probably a lot more things that go into whether a coach gets fired or not than just the win/loss record. Although having said that, in the long run it is the win/loss record that makes the final decision. If he gets fired after just 4 games then I would think it is about more than just wins and losses. I don't think he is a good coach at all. But he sure doesn't have much to work with. Ballage is getting significant snaps on that team for Christ's sake. That speaks volumes about their roster.

I'm banking on Quinn because the Jets are all around devoid of talent. The Falcons are talented and making moronic plays. No excuse for letting Dallas recover that onside kick. None.

Falcons won their last 4 in 2019 to kill their draft position. I don't know why, but owners just LOVE meaningless winning streaks to end the year. Reports are the Jets won't fire him, mainly because the team has no talent and a new coach would just lose 90% of their games anyway with this garbage roster.
The whole team is riding out the season and it's Week 4. It would be shocking at this point if they don't have the #1 pick. Title: Re: Should Gase Be Fired if the Jets Lose Thursday? Title: Re: Should Gase Be Fired if the Jets Lose Thursday? Post by: Dolphster on October 02, 2020, 10:50:18 am I watched that game last night. Wow. The Broncos did everything they could possibly do in the 2nd half to give that game to the Jets, but the Jets are so inept that they refused the gift. My biggest takeaway though was the astounding douchebaggery of Gase. Less than a minute left in the game, they were down 2 scores and he was calling timeouts. The Broncos coach was so pissed that he refused to go shake Gase's hand after the game. Even Troy Aikman was saying how ludicrous the timeouts were and said something about there being obvious bad blood when the Broncos coach wouldn't go to midfield to meet Gase. He also apparently has no discipline on his team as the Jets were flagged for SIX personal fouls and 11 penalties altogether last night. I've never understood why the Jets made Gase a head coach. I guess the only explanation is "they are the Jets".

The local media would have a ball with that. Both NY teams being cheered on to lose every game. Title: Re: Should Gase Be Fired if the Jets Lose Thursday? Post by: dolphins4life on October 04, 2020, 11:03:51 am It's odd Adam Gase was 10-6 his first year with Miami.
Then, he started 4-2. Then, he started 7-6. |
