Why are you an asshole?

Today, some dude was pumping gas (and because of the pipeline hack, everyone is filling their tanks, so it was packed with people) and he's playing music obnoxiously loud (to where it would be uncomfortable to actually be in his car) and he has his car doors wide open while he's pumping.

What makes anyone feel like that's appropriate?

"Look at me I didn't get enough attention as a child"

"I'm entitled.  When I was little, my parents told me that I was special.  So common courtesy doesn't apply to me."

"The knob on my radio is stuck and I can't turn it off."

This ^^^.  Seeking attention is the reason most people are doing silly things in public. It blows my mind how rude people can be by doing this or something like using their phone on speaker in a restaurant but we are digressing with manners as a country. 

I don't think it's even getting worse.  I've seen people do this all my life.

Some douche was always blasting his tunes from his convertible all through the 80s.

"My dick is bigger than yours"

People like that are miserable scum, you could hand them gold bars and they would complain about the weight of it.

"My hearings bad, I have to play the music loud."

You are all old .i don't do this but it really doesn't bother me like it seems to you guys.

If the radio is on, isn't that dangerous because their engine is running?

That's not how cars work.

I try to always consider other people around me, when I'm in public.  I never want my actions to infringe on other people's enjoyment.
