From what I read, it's an extension, so he'll finish out his rookie contract this year and then the new contract starts the following year. After that, it's more like a 2 year deal with a 3rd year option. That sounds good. I'm not familiar with the money he got compared to his position elsewhere, but it seems like a reasonable deal. Have to start locking in a few of these guys while we can, don't want to wait until they hit free agency and start using franchise tags. |
