Of course there is a really long way to go, and DeSantis would have to actually declare, but it looks like conservatives are looking at a much more polished version of the same thing. I'm scared to lose him as governor of this great state but would welcome him as president. The Western Conservative Summit, billed as the largest gathering of conservatives outside Washington, D.C. held the latest straw poll. DeSantis came in second to Trump in late February at a straw poll at CPAC, the largest gathering of conservative activists in the country. He also won a second straw poll that didn't include the former president.

I wouldn't take much from this.

Right now, like nearly all of the (remaining) GOP, DeSantis is obsessively subservient to Trump.  How could you possibly beat someone if you're terrified of turning off their supporters?

If this poll were showing the strength of someone who actively challenges Trump, like a Charlie Baker or a Mike DeWine, this would be very interesting.  But we all know that's ridiculous and impossible!   So this doesn't tell us anything of value.

When Trump turns his fire on potential rivals, they will melt like butter on the summer asphalt.  Until then, polls of GOPers vs. Trump don't mean anything.

  Trump couldn't win in twenty twenty, he cannot win in twenty twenty four.  DeSantis may give more of a chance of winning.   

I want nothing more than to watch Trump turn on the entire Republican party and watch it tear itself apart.

Check that...there is one thing I want more than that. I'd like to see Qanon Rep Marjorie Taylor-Greene get gang-raped by a troop of roving gorillas.

As someone who has actually volunteered to help those with mental disorders, I hate to break it to you, pumpkin, but you'd fit in pretty well with that group.

DeSantis in 2024 with Candace Owen's as his running mate.  That would be an easy victory over Pedo Joe and the Hoe

I'm okay with Candice Owens, but not for any political office.  DeSantis would be better with someone like Nicki Haley, or if he could get Tulsi to jump over to the Republican side...she's pretty sick of the Democratic party.
