This was arguably the 3 best WR targets taken off the board in a day. I know that this Draft class is supposed to be deep, but I think we were all hoping for a top WR to pair with Waddle and now we will have to pay a lot more for one. If Amari Cooper is released, he won't be signing a cheap deal now. He might get an even bigger contract due to scarcity.

I know but I would much rather have a proven guy than hope for a "solid contributor" in the 2nd or 3rd round. Mian reason why I want to address LT or RT in free agency as anything outside of Top 10 is kinda iffy. Hard to get a good read on the guy because Cowboys fans are dumb. Some love him and some say he was open thanks to Lamb and Cooper. Looks like a good addition for us but I still want a top guy. Yeah I was really hopeful of drafting another WR with our first pick this year, but with the Niners winning late and our pick tumbling down the board I think the chances of that now are very slim (unless we trade up). We still have a few other key deficiencies to fix - if our first two picks go on one of the top rated LBs followed by one of the top rated RBs, I'll be happy enough. It would be nice to somehow unearth a WR gem later in the draft, although last year's WR deep draft was probably the more likely year to do that. |
