Title: Brady + Sean Payton story Post by: Dave Gray on April 13, 2022, 01:57:09 pm There a story being reported by the Boston Globe and Pro Football Talk, I believe...
Brady was retiring to come to Miami to be a minority owner. (It fell through which is why his retirement from Tampa was weird.) He was going to bring in Sean Payton to coach. Then he himself was going to be the QB. But the Flores stuff happened and killed the whole deal (not exactly sure how, but possible through extra scrutiny. And then the speculation from the masses (not specifically reported) is that Bellichek intentionally sent the Flores text because he had heard whispers that this could be going down. I'd start poking holes, but what's the point? The many holes are obvious. Title: Re: Brady + Sean Payton story Post by: EDGECRUSHER on April 13, 2022, 02:25:32 pm There's enough to this to warrant questions being asked, but it's really a lot of things that need to go right. Least of which is, the Bucs would still own Brady's rights so why do this elaborate thing when they could've just asked Tampa Bay to trade Brady and hired Payton? He could retire and become owner but the second he says he wnats to play again, it's all in the Bucs' court. They're not stupid, they would see what was happening and demanded a ransom. Just doesn't make sense past the first question.

Somehow Bill Belichick was the mastermind behind preventing Payton and Brady from coming to Mia all caused by a single text message. A 58 page class action lawsuit against multiple parties was caused by a single text message by Dr. Evil. Never mind, Brady was under contract and even after the Flores lawsuit was still lobbing he Glazers to release him and they remained steadfast that he would either play for the Bucs or not play at all. Never mind, before the lawsuit was filed Miami asked the Saints for permission to interview Payton and the Saints said, "No". This fantasy wasn't going to happen even before the lawsuit. At least not without expending a ton of draft capital both to Tampa Bay and New Orleans. There is one conspiracy angle that does seem plausible.... After Belichick learned that the Flores interview was a scam he wanted to blow the whistle on the Rooney rule violation....but didn't want to to directly be a whistleblower by telling Flores or going to the league or the media. So instead he texted "congratulations" and then went "oops sorry wrong Brian" Thus avoiding the blowback of being called a tattletale or an accusation of violating the trust of the person who told him which no doubt was done in confidence. But the Belichick text had absolutely nothing to do with Dolphins, but rather the Giants. Title: Re: Brady + Sean Payton story Post by: CF DolFan on April 13, 2022, 03:47:12 pm It's a great story based on some facts but probably not true. Tom Brady will likely be a part owner of the Dolphins one day as he is very tight with Bruce Beal Jr who most of you know will be the next owner of the Dolphins. He is already part owner. Tom Brady and wife are currently building a massive home in South Florida in preparation for moving there. The thing that makes this story such a non issue is there is an NFL rule barring owners from playing per Jeff Darlington. The more likely part of the story is Tom would have gone to Miami and hired Sean Payton to coach them. Unfortunately Brian Flores filed the lawsuit on the same exact day Brady "retired" so things kind of fell apart and got put on hold.
