Title: All in your face team Post by: dolphins4life on December 13, 2022, 06:24:08 pm Players who were not successful with Miami, but found success after they left.
QB: Ryan Tannehill (AFC title game) RB: Ricky Williams (AFC title game) RB: Sammy Morris (Super Bowl) WR: Devante Parker (if NE makes the playoffs this year) WR: Ted Ginn Jr. (2 Super Bowls) WR: Wes Welker (2 Super Bowls) WR: Chris Chambers (AFC title game) FB: Heath Evans (Who really stuck it to them in 2005 costing them a playoff berth) (Super Bowl) DE: Jason Taylor (AFC Title Game) LB: Larry Izzo* DE: Adewale Ogunleye (Super Bowl) CB: Terrell Buckley* CB: Sam Madison* K: Matt Bryant (Super Bowl) * = won a Super Bowl Spider, before you criticize me about adding Devante, yeah I know I don't apply my rules 100% of the time. It doesn't diminish my point. Plus, the Patriots making the playoffs over Miami this year would be the biggest shame on this franchise in history. Title: Re: All in your face team Post by: Dave Gray on December 13, 2022, 07:53:33 pm Wes Welker would have to be one of your WRs. He went from a serviceable player to the best WR in the league overnight.
Title: Re: All in your face team Post by: Spider-Dan on December 13, 2022, 08:55:59 pm So making the AFC championship (and losing) is "success," but winning the division is not?
You are attempting to define "success" precisely in a way to bash the Dolphins. So because many of the players on this list either won a playoff game or a division title (or both) with the Dolphins, neither of those things are considered a "success." No, instead it's precisely "lose a conference championship game" that is held up as the "success" that has eluded the Dolphins lo these many years. Something Miami hasn't done since 2008. The general rule is, "Achieved more playoff success than with Miami with the exception of Parker due to circumstances" Title: Re: All in your face team Post by: dolphins4life on December 13, 2022, 08:58:56 pm Wes Welker would have to be one of your WRs. He went from a serviceable player to the best WR in the league overnight. He was only great in two systems with two great quarterbacks and two immense supporting casts. With the Rams he went back to serviceable. With Miami in 2006 he was good, maybe very good. Title: Re: All in your face team Post by: Spider-Dan on December 13, 2022, 08:59:53 pm Even if Parker makes the playoffs and loses in the first game, how is that "more playoff success" than Miami in 2016?

Again, he is the exception because for the Patriots to make the playoffs this year over Miami is the most pathetic thing in the world. Title: Re: All in your face team Post by: dolphins4life on December 13, 2022, 09:01:34 pm Anybody know any other players?
Title: Re: All in your face team Post by: Downunder Dolphan on December 13, 2022, 09:30:53 pm Anybody know any other players? For starters two former Dan Marino award winners who went on to get Super Bowl rings... Jay Ajayi (RB) and Ndamukong Suh (NT). You could also throw in Damien Williams (RB) and Chad Henne (backup QB) for the Chiefs SB winning squad. That said, I can't really see the point of this whole thread. Players change teams all the time, some happen to find success in other colors, and some don't. Often there's an ex-Dolphin on a successful team, but are they usually themselves better players than they were here? I'd argue it's rare that they are (Welker being a notable one). Title: Re: All in your face team Post by: dolphins4life on December 14, 2022, 07:58:36 pm He doesn't qualify obviously, but if the Patriots make the playoffs this year and Miami doesn't, does that make Mac Jones better than Tua?
