Title: Ring of Dishonor - Wayne Huzienga Post by: dolphins4life on December 18, 2022, 12:29:03 am Just saw on finheaven.
We COULD have gone to the AFC South and the COLTS stayed in the AFC East. Wayne chose not too. Our franchise has been crippled for the last twenty one years because of this https://finheaven.com/threads/did-the-dolphins-make-a-mistake-by-not-moving-to-the-afc-south.376202/ Title: Re: Ring of Dishonor - Wayne Huzienga Post by: Spider-Dan on December 18, 2022, 03:03:05 am It wouldn't have made a difference.
MIA has played HOU worse than they've played NE. Title: Re: Ring of Dishonor - Wayne Huzienga Post by: dolphins4life on December 18, 2022, 03:09:05 am It wouldn't have made a difference. MIA has played HOU worse than they've played NE. But they wouldn't have had to deal with a team winning the division year after year after year Plus, you can't possibly think you can compare that sample size, right? Title: Re: Ring of Dishonor - Wayne Huzienga Post by: Spider-Dan on December 18, 2022, 04:12:17 am From 2002-present, MIA's record was good enough to win 1 division title.
If MIA were in the AFC South instead of IND, that same record would have been good enough to win... 2 division titles. Those two division titles would have occurred 1) in 2013 with an 8-8 team 2) in 2016 with a 10-6 team that lost Tannehill to a season-ending injury in Week 14 It wouldn't have made a difference. And yes, I do think 12 games over 20 years is a sufficient sample size. The Dolphins' problem was losing to everyone else. The Dolphins' problem was losing to everyone else. They were 23-12 against Brady What was their record against the other afc East teams Title: Re: Ring of Dishonor - Wayne Huzienga Post by: dolphins4life on December 18, 2022, 02:49:54 pm 12 games vs 35 games over 20 years?
Title: Re: Ring of Dishonor - Wayne Huzienga Post by: Downunder Dolphan on December 18, 2022, 03:43:43 pm Funnily enough, five years ago I suggested this addition to the Ring of Dishonor, albeit for different reasons.
Wayne Huizenga should be the very first new inductee into the Ring of Dishonor - as far as I am concerned, the rot started when he got majority ownership, taking us from a genuine contender to a has been and at times laughing stock: He shamefully removed all references to Joe Robbie as though he had nothing to do with our history... He forced Shula into retirement to replace him with Jimmy, then Wanny, Saban, Cam... Brought in Parcels and his bunch of merry wankers to puff up the franchise to eventually sell out to the clueless New Yorker, leading to more years of even further misery. It's a bit of a mute point anyway, I'm sure someone mentioned there will be no future additions to the Ring.... and there could be plenty of worthy additions. Dion Jordan, Jeff Ireland, Stephen Ross, and the way things are panning out Noah Igbinoghene. |
